Factory order JL once I finalize the configuration..
I'm with you, Ive been saying to the wife for months that March we go test drive both the sport 2 door and Rubicon 2 door make our choice and place order. That doesn't look like that's going to happen.
I'm not buying an 18 at the middle of 18 I'll just wait for round two and get a 19 or lose interest all together and buy a fully loaded 2.8L duramax diesel c.c. canyon Denali for the same price as 2 door Rubicon.

I like the merge too, but don't understand the forum move. The great majority of both the original threads and individual posts regard those tracking existing 2dr orders in the system not people looking for ordering and pricing information. Not a big deal - just seems odd.

My dealer got in touch with his FCA rep, today. He confirmed what we already know: there is a delay, and D status builds have been downgraded to C. He told me to expect a June delivery.

He also confirmed that 2019 order banks will open in August with the first builds rolling off the line in October, *but* he believes 4dr will go first as usual. So, if you wait for a 2019 it’ll probably be 2020 before you get it.

What will come in 2019 besides BSG? Will 2019 2drs experience even worse delays than the 2018s while they ramp up turbos and diesels? We don’t know what we don’t know... but what is certain is that 2dr is now the least profitable and worst selling version of the Wrangler, so I’m gonna get me one while I still can.

Nothing to do but hurry up and wait for June. There will be plenty of summer left, even if it ends up being closer to a July delivery. Meantime I’ll save some extra $$ to put toward my down payment.

I don’t agree with the depreciation arguement. The wrangler is to be one of the best vehicles in holding value. If it even comes close to the Tacoma, I bought one new towards the end of the model year, drove it for two years, put 20,000 miles on it, and traded it in for only $2,000 less than what I paid for it. So I don’t believe there’s going to be much depreciation if they come out in May or June vs March when they were originally planned to be hitting dealer lots. That is if they truly hold their value. To that point, with such low demand and interests in 2-doors, they might not hold their value nearly as well as 4-doors, and likely run the risk of being killed off. In my personal opinion, I despise the look of the 4-door and would never consider one - but to each their own.

In no way am I doubting your info OldGuy, but I have to wonder how solid the sometime in April build and sometime in June delivery really is? With the way that the start date has been pushed back (with what seems like several times), I have to wonder if it won't get delayed even further.
I'm in the same boat as a lot of folks here in that I have a negotiated trade value and my dealer obviously won't guarantee that value for whenever Jeep finally decides to build these 2-doors.

This sure sounds like Jeep is going to get all the JK's done first, then ask all 2 door buyers to sit around while Toledo is retooled for a month, and then and only then will limited numbers of 2 doors start production. While it's highly unfortunate, I still want my 18 Jeep wrangler. I'm just a little pissed Jeep opened the order banks, when in my mind they knew there would be significant delays.

Agreed! Total lack of communication, and honesty when it comes down to it.
I’m excited to have the first year of the new model & to have what I feel is the original representation in an increasingly four door world. My lease ends in April. I will have to borrow my brother in law’s truck during the week & be at other people’s mercy on the weekends until my girl finally arrives. Frustrating? Yes.
Annoying? Yes.
Worth it? Hellllll yes!!!

The original plan from Jeep was that all JL Wranglers were to be made at Toledo North, IF they were to change their plans, I think all of our VINs would have to be updated to a "L" in the 11th position .

The fact that it'll be worth it at then end is keeping my hopes up. I was so tempted to go in and get one of the lot if they honored the same deal but I keep on holding on
