I just got a reply to my PM from JeepCares:

First of all, congrats on your new Wrangler and thanks for reaching out to us! We do see that your JL has "Premium Black Sunrider Soft Top" in the sales codes. Please know that as members of the customer care teams, we do not have this detailed information on production dates. We are only able to look up current VINs or VONs and see what specific details are registered to them. Saying this, I see that your Wrangler is in the scheduling phase of the manufacturing process. According to my resources, it looks like the current build plan is for the first week in March. Please note this date is subject to change.

If I go D1 1st week of March I'll be SUPER happy. Fingers crossed!

Thought I'd let everyone know that my 2door hard top Sport S JL went D1 status on Saturday and has a ship date of 2/26. Has anyone else received a status change on the 2 door?

Got this response back from my dealer today! Two door building has begun!!!

Hi Fred,

The good news is that yes, the building has begun. I looked into your order & I do see that the first Jeep that we ordered you has a scheduled build week of beginning of March so, I am assuming your Rubicon will soon be scheduled. I will check every day & let you know if anything changes. I also have a few sold-order Wranglers on order that I am anticipating an update on. Keeping fingers crossed!!

What happened to the 12th for 2 door Hard tops. I thought March start was for soft top.

Edit. Just realized I'm going from a tank 2016 JKU to a GC JL like you!

The original timeline published showed the old JK line re-tooled to make the pickup. All Wranglers to be made in the North plant, My sheet from the dealer actually showed it to be made last Tuesday (which I don’t believe). Also, original start day for 2 doors at the North plant was today.

Hey guys, and ladies...ordered 12/17 JL Granite Crystal 2 door hardtop also. Been in D status forever....don’t know where the March start info is sourced. Private message to Jeep Cares days ago, still waiting on a response to “status”, dealer says any day now...for last four weeks

Still in D status here as well. I wonder if they are building auto's before the manuals? Seemed to be the case with the 4 door. I ordered a hard top manual. Also heard hardtop production started the 12 FEB and soft top will be march. Guess we will all know soon enough...or not.

So many unknowns. Anyone ordering 2 door JLs in 2017, recognizes we would not see production startup till sometime during the first quarter of 2018. So much hearsay from over optimistic dealers, rumors posted as fact. An announced hard start date from FCA/Jeep would alleviate a lot of folks anxiety. Peoples’ truck leases expiring, selling existing vehicles, and pending $50 K Jeep JL purchases....talk about high anxieties
