The irony is that I think it’s perfectly OK - even cool and rugged - for a Jeep to have a few battle scars! I didn’t baby my previous Jeep at all, and I’ll probably get over that phase soon. But in the meantime... I’ll happily walk a few more feet to keep it safe ;)
Oh, and another cool thing, which will not last long: raining a lot here; my Jeep is covered with water beads way after all cars are already dry after the rain. It’s that magnificent brand new paint, beautiful!
Sorry... enough with the silly stuff, should join a girly forum! Lol!

It didn't take long to rack up chips and scrapes. Now the fun really begins. B-)

Funny! All I have is the soft top and in my way of thinking it's the hard top that's fancy! Lol!
My soft top isn't "clunky" at all when it's all the way down. In fact, with my bungee trick, it's very tight and compact. Not once since I've had my baby have I ever wished I had a hard top nor have I ever regretted getting a soft top. My dad tried to originally talk me into getting a hard top. He said it would be quieter and an all-around better ride. But my soft top is super quiet! In fact, I'd say it is as quiet or even more so than my Fiat was.
I am soooo happy I got the soft top and would do so again if I had to do it all over. :like:
You live in Florida! lol

Soft top in Colorado will last a few years, but they are not the best option for long term. Still, there is no better way to enjoy a Jeep.

I like having both so I can use the hard top in winter. No, I'm not this guy:

I got only the soft top, we'll see how the winter goes. Not that I have to go out much anyhoo, so that should help.

You'll be fine. Jeeps have always had great heaters. I just see far too many soft tops get beat up and need replacing to make it my primary top.

How are the winters up there? I spent 5 years in the UP and had lake effect snow only on the last year. Feezing. Brrr

It gets cold, and at times TOO cold. Subzero is not uncommon. I'll just be very careful if I have to take her out in that crap. The only time she might be subjected to snow is bowling nights, otherwise she'll always be in the garage.

I always have fun in the snow with the Subaru, but will look forward to driving in it with the Jeep.

What do you brave the cold in?

If you go with the standard vinyl softop yes they won't last forever, but the premium soft top is made of the same material they make sails out of . Should last quite a long time with little care.

When I lived in Wisconsin all my Jeeps just had a soft top, lots of sub zero days. My YJ was the most "fun" in the winter. On sub zero days the drivers door would keep popping open when driving. Was a stick so a hand for the stick, one for the steering wheel and another to keep shutting the door. Was hard to get the interior to warm up with the door opening all the time.

Does anyone have any experience running 37s on a Rubi with the manual trans? Havent been able to find anything in the search and this thread has too many pages for me to try to sort through since I havent been keeping up, so apologies if this has been answered before. Im curious if regearing is necessary or would be beneficial.
