We have identical JLs and was considering the KO2s in 35” and having the 33”s installed on my wife’s Grand Cherokee with 48K miles, tires are beat. First impressions on ride and handling? Haven’t done too many mos myself, replaced front bumper,

Is anybody else not loving the shift between 3rd and 4th ? Third is to short and fourth to tall , find myself constantly back and forth between the two. Now I live in the mountains so lots of inclines . Not really a problem but definitely a nuisance .

Thank you for your impressions! I sometimes think I should have waited, but then I drive mine and am very pleased again.

On the braking, I had the same results. I'm using more aggressive pads on the Subaru and if this were happening it usually just meant I needed to bed them better, and maybe swap sides. On the Jeep, I'm finding it hard to believe the stock pads would do the same. I'll try some bedding and see if it improves.

I'd think your mileage will improve as things start to settle in. Glad you love your new toy. Happy Jeeping!

1) It’s comforting to know that I’m not imagining this braking issue, and even more comforting to know that it will likely go away! 2) Embarassingly, I had to google “bedding braking pads”, I didn’t know that was a thing... but it definitely lines up with my intuition/experience, so I’ll give it a longer breaking/braking period.
Unfortunately I won’t drive my JL for 10 days due to other travel plans. I already miss it...!

6 days and 415 miles of fun here!

I posted the below driving report in the Turbo thread and thought I’d share with my 2-door brethrens in case anyone is curious about the 2.0L.

- I love how smooth and responsive the Turbo JL is. It drives very fluidly.
- Good accelerations, nice “oomph”. You definitely get that glued-to-the-back-of-your seat feeling if you floor it (I didn’t overdo it as it’s still early days).
- I’m only averaging 19 mpg so far. Hoping to get to the 20s after more mileage.
- I don’t seem to have any of the steering issues that were mentioned on other threads. Phew!
- Tire pressure was initially 41-42 and I drove it around for a short bit before getting it lowered to 37 as I was curious to experience the difference. Well, it makes a big difference. I had to work hard to keep it straight at 42, and not at all at 37. Keep it low!
- My one question mark / slightly negative impression pertains to braking. If I hit the brakes abruptly, particularly on a steep downhill, it oversteers. Obviously that’s something I avoid as much as possible, but I want to feel like I can fully trust my vehicle in an emergency, and I didn’t love that response. Hopefully it’s just due to still being “green” and will get better.
- Overall a really, really fun ride - and I love how quiet it is. It doesn’t roar - it purrs!!!

Thanks for the report. Glad you are liking your new Jeep! As for the brakes I would guess that as the brake pads wear in they will seat better and all will be well. Just a guess.

What psi are running in your 315's?

I will have to look to confirm but I think they are around 38. Should be basically the same as your factory tires. Both were c rated just more volume in the 35

Just got mine put on and at 37 look a little rounded when viewed from the front.

I will check next time I jump in it. I drove thru a garage and checked to see how the dust was that it picked up and it was right across all the tire. Kinda like the chalk test

Just got them on today and running 37 PSI. .They do look a little rounded on the top and the bottom outside edges are not touching the pavement. (I don't know if they even should). Initially I didn't feel any difference but after a 40 mile trip to the dealer for a speedometer re calibration (which they couldn't do) think they tend to drift a bit. They currently don't have the right equipment to do the re calibration, the one that did the JK won't work on the JL and they recommended a Superchips flash calibrator, part # 3571Jl. I will be looking for some 9" rims in the meantime.

Hey all, been out straight here at work. I worked the whole holiday weekend but found time to make an ice cream meet last night. I just booked my cabin for Jeep Beach next April. I have never done a large event and can't wait. Anyone planning on being there?

I think you’re right!
Really not even remotely a concern for routine braking, I only noticed it when I tried a hard downhill brake. My guess is the same as yours - it should settle and be well in no time. I just like to nitpick and troubleshoot early on so I can test for every contingency, but I’ve been really impressed overall. I love my Jeep!
