1st battle scars today...500 miles on the highway when something large and loud scared the hell out of me.

Thought it was windshield but didn't see any cracks. Looks worse than the pictures and I can only assume it was a large piece of highway concrete wall barrier kicked up by the car in front of me. Bam! Shotgun.

Oh and also death decided he liked my car and sat on the hard top to critique his work

even if insurance would cover the fix, 1. it would waste so much time, and B. there's probably a deductible, and iii. IT'S A JEEP! (this is what i keep telling myself.. now to get it offroad and add to the battle scars :)

OK so just what do those "Rattle Covers" really do ? Hide wires--hide drains-- or
nothing at all. I haven't removed them to look but someone here has. WHAT is
the real reason for them ? Do we take them off or glue the heck out of them ?

I have one potentially very stupid question for any (premium?) soft top owners out there. I couldn't resist taking the windows off as soon as I got it and have now convinced myself that I put them back on improperly even though they seem to be fitting well and have already proven to be waterproof in one heavy downpour.

If you take a look at this photo, no matter what I do, I can't get the velcro tabs to line up at the top of the left and right side windows near the top of the door. Wondering if I'm the only one or if they all seem to be like this. As far as I can tell there is no other means of adjusting the top, but this is my first time dealing with a soft top so any help/advice/feedback would be very much appreciated!

On than fretting about the top the car is great. One of the pieces of hard plastic trim under the roll bar was falling off and needed to be screwed in/tightened (which then prompted me to go around the rest of the car making sure the rest of the trim was properly affixed). In some areas you can see they painted over dirt or imperfections as there are hard "dots" in the paint, but this is only in spots which you'd normally never see. The weather stripping at the bottom edge of both sides of the tailgate is warped, and some stripping around the drivers door came out and I had to "persuade" it back in to place to make it mirror how it looks on the passenger side. All in though, it seems to be very solid and I'm loving the car! It drives very well (especially for a solid axel short wheelbase vehicle!) and I'm having a ton of fun. Love the car!!

I'm just curious as to why some fellow jeeples block out their license plates? You certainly can't drive around with them blocked out. Just wondering...

Just in photos or are you seeing this on the road?

If it is just in photos, then it is a security method to limit the amount of a person's personal information that is on the web.

Mostly because there are some jerks on this Form. All of us that are long time friends
do not worry about this but remember you can't trust everyone.

thanks,
They fit nice, feel good. Black may match better. I only opted for the grey hoping it might feel cooler and reflect heat better. They were and are way more than i expected. I think the quality is good, the material looks tough, like the other set we have. I would highly recommend them.

Well Betty goes in for more R&D tomorrow and will be gone from me for a couple days. Jenn says my parting gift will be tube doors with mirrors. Sounds interesting. I never even considered them. What's the advantage of them? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Just let us know when you get the back ones. I suspect they will be getting a flood of orders. Surely mine!
