The vents and thermostat would be to help her run cooler. The silencer would just be a casualty of that. Why fool with it...

How does the cover that stays on the hard top have speaker wires running thru it? Speakers are in the roll bar or the sub is in the floor. The harness for the rear wiper and defroster plug in at the back@BostonBilly
Each cover covers up wires going up to speakers, etc. Wire are black in color and do visually stand out if uncovered.
Yes, if hard top is removed it would be easier to get to the covers and deal with them somehow.
Yup, you are correct, spoke without thinking.... But, I did see black wires running behind the cover on the driver's side. How does the cover that stays on the hard top have speaker wires running thru it? I'm pretty sure the black you saw was the drain. That's what I saw when I had the top off of mine.Yup, you are correct, spoke without thinking.... But, I did see black wires running behind the cover on the driver's side.
Well did see something black running vertically. Maybe a drain. I thought a wire. I did not have my friggin glasses on.I'm pretty sure the black you saw was the drain. That's what I saw when I had the top off of mine.

Ordered mine from Orlando Dodge Chrysler Jeep, believe I was their first one too. Had a tough time dropping the 2.0, had to go through Jeep Cares. Have not seen a JL 2dr on the roads in Orlando yet.Which dealer did you order from? Got mine from Greenway. I was their first JL 2 door.
A few different places sell them online, here is the link to the Mopar site.Mordin, I know you've told us before, but where'd you get the black grill?

No offense, Billy, but don’t you think the designers would have done it that way if they thought it would be better? The vents and thermostat would be to help her run cooler. The silencer would just be a casualty of that.
I agree but the other side of that is slow moving or idle time in the woods wheeling, you want to get rid of the heat. Also one of the engineers at vw, when I worked there told me, they run them hotter to help with the emission standards. Whether or not that is true, I dont know, i obviously am not an engineer. I have done Google searches and info supports both sides of the argument. I wont do anything till next spring and I am sure there will be others that cant wait, so I can also see how it works for themNo offense, Billy, but don’t you think the designers would have done it that way if they thought it would be better?
