There's a dealer with a good reputation 30 miles away, and maybe that potential hassle is worth it.
30 miles is NOTHING, even in Utah. Well worth it for a Dealership you have some trust in. . . . . there are only a half dozen of those in the whole country.
You can take the Jeep anywhere for maintenance, it does not have to be where you bought it. The Sales and the Service departments are almost 2 different businesses. One place here has an ok sales and a terrible service department. The other dealership is just the opposite.

My limit for driving for a fair good deal is 1,000 miles. I will gladly drive that far to avoid jerks and crooks.

Excellent point. The only thing I worry about is if I'll get treated like shit for potential warranty work for having not bought at whichever closer service department I attempt to go to. Or hell, just do the thirty minutes if it ever needs warranty work.

Sucks I'm having such a hard time even finding a 2 door just to LOOK at. The 4 door is the same test drive experience, but I do want to look at the styling and interior in person.

Our Jeep Wrangler Sport is at the Dealer, it arrived yesterday, and we will be talking tomorrow (Tuesday) to make arrangements about when it will be available for pick up. It is really strange to be on the actual verge of purchasing the rig, rather than looking at them in 4 Wheeler, Peterson's, or thinking about it from as long ago as the "Rat Patrol" days. I tell my co-workers a years subscription to a magazine is much less than even one fill up, now at $2.39 a gallon, regular, but I don't think it will be as much fun.

This being Memorial Day it had be thinking back to Jeep wisdom imparted, "if you are going to get a Jeep you have got to be able to weld". Hopefully I won't need to apply that skill right away but did build a dirt every day track in the back yard (field) and am looking forward to giving it a try.
I don't know when gas was $2.39 around here, it's $3.00 now.

13 weeks ago today I placed my order. Another week of waiting. Plus my lease is up this week. :( Never thought it would take this long and never thought a pst would hold things up. Hoping to see more pst’s posted on here this week! It is encouraging seeing many status changes in this forum. It’s giving me hope! Thank goodness for this forum! :) Have a great week!

I talked to a case manager a few weeks ago, he said he would "take care of me" told me to call back after my jeep was delivered but before i picked it up.
I sure hope that guy actually does something for you. That would be nice.

I do have a case number, and didn't really figure I would be getting a call. The fact that the hotline told me I would is what bothers me, they can't get their stories straight. I just hope that any issues I might have (hopefully none) after I pick it up wont be dealt with like this.

The fact that it takes a week to get an email that pretty much says there are people in front of you is really wearing on me. Before I could get an email back in a 24 hour period and now its just whenever they get around to it. I asked why it takes so long and I was told its for "research". It shouldn't be that hard to tell me an estimated date. Others are now being told July and I can't even get a date... does that mean I might be after them or before?

I am trying to remain excited for my Jeep but man, I really hope that they get better at this. Even most of the parts I want to put on my Jeep are slowly going up in price while my trade goes down. I think that is what is really getting me right now.

Yep, we have all been dealing with exactly what you are talking about. Folks on here ordered in January and will be lucky to have a July delivery. FCA acknowledged they bungled the launch. Of course, that's all they did. I can tell you that you will get far more accurate info here than you will from FCA. And, they do NOT call you back. IF you get an email, it will be a copy and pasted response. They are overwhelmed with inquiries and just really don't care if you get upset. You can call three times in the same day and you will get three different answers. But, it will get built and it will get delivered. There's just no rhyme or reason to how fast or long it takes.

Currently trying to figure out which dealer to go with in the SLC area. Many of them have absolutely horrendous customer review average scores. Id don't wanna buy from crooks that won't stand behind the thing for warranty work. There's a dealer with a good reputation 30 miles away, and maybe that potential hassle is worth it.
My dealer is 30 miles and that's OK. Go to that dealer and find the one you want to buy
even if is 150 miles away. My dealer made us a great deal on a Compass Trailhawk and
went 120 miles to pick it up at another dealership. You can try.

Oh I must add this: The EXSACT Trailhawk color and options was at
another Dealer 30 miles from them but won"t deal with each other.
They went from Ohio to New York to get it.

I painted the white lettering on my license plate frames to match the red tow hooks. Adds a nice touch I think. Jeep floor mats are on order with the red Jeep logo as well. Still in awe of how nice this vehicle is. My last Jeep was a TJ, skipped the JK and can say I think the JL is just amazing! Way nicer in every way than the TJ. They obviously put a lot of effort in to the details!
