waiting on my JLR order updates
She’s here! After placing my order back on December 23rd and all the delays, I can’t believe shipping actually went so quickly. Not even a week. I’m trying to free up my afternoon so I can go get her. Ahhhhhhhh!

Congrats!!!
Take her out and get her dirty LOL

On a different note, there's a new development on the tracking spreadsheet for my KZ build: "Service Event - Paper Hanging." I'd like to think that they are festooning my build with streamers, ribbons and bows for delivery, but I'm not so sure.

Seriously, I did a Google and forum search for this and came up with nothing. Anyone have any idea what this is? It seems most, but not all, builds encounter this event before shipping.

Just talked to the FCA hotline and they said my 2dr is on ā€œgateline shceduleā€ .....whatever that is....and should be delivered to the dealer on 5-25...give or take one day. Does gateline mean it is built...being built...or what??

About to be built. Crossing the gateline means start of assembly and it sounds like you're just in advance of that.

Did FCA explicitly say that it will be delivered to the dealer by 5-25, or did they use the term "estimated ship date of 5-25"? If the latter, that is the target date for completing the build at the factory, after which it will be shipped.

I've never heard of FCA giving a target delivery date before a vehicle is built, but they all have an "Estimated Ship Date." The ETA to your dealer that you get from FCA after assembly is always stated within a range of four to five days.

I walked into my dealership to see what the real story is, as far as they know on the 2 door builds. After having been told that my 2 door will not be on lot till July if I am lucky (Ordered it 3/24 - Rubicon, Ocean Blue, Hard Top) I decided to try a 4 Door Rubicon in White they had on the lot with every option (Sticker was $57k). The ride and handling sold me immediately. Since it really was not that big of a difference in driving and turning radius for me, I made the change over. I never thought I would get into a 4 door but I certainly see the appeal in it. I suggest while you wait for the 2 door build just test drive the 4 door for fun. I honeslty think if my 2 door came in at same time I would now choose the 4 door. The extra space will help with all the gear and friends I drive around. Anyway I still have 2 two door JK's at home (my daughters jeeps) that I could drive when in the mood. Good luck on waiting for your builds to arrive. It will all be worth it.
I got in one with the keys in hand, looked back at all the rear space behind me and returned the keys back to the sales guy. I prefer the old school two door Jeep. If i need cargo space Ill hook up a trailer or drive the pick up. Some people love the 4 door, I'm just not one of those.

He said ā€œdelivered to the dealerā€....I even asked if he was sure about that and that’s when he said ā€œgive or take a dayā€. I think I’ll call back and see if I get the same information from another person.

Ok...called back and got another ā€œBS Throwerā€. Said I’m in D1 and have been for 31 days...assigned a case number...they will be in contact for a more direct update. Doesn’t sound at all like the the last information. I think I’m being jerked around and I don’t like it...Hmmm!
