D or D1? Even D1 is absolutely ridiculous at this point. I have been in D1 since April 16 and have seen similar builds to mine be completed. Just plain wrong!
D. 4 1/2 months, but who’s counting? :cwl:

Little bit of a derail here.

Last night I was thinking about how it has been 7 weeks since I ordered. I went in knowing it would be a wait, but figured it would be here by late May or first week of June. More likely it will be built early June and I won’t see it until July.

So sitting in my Game Room thinking how this wait is going to suck, this is just my luck, etc. Then I hear from the next room the little girl we are Fostering saying her prayers. Wife and I are wanting to adopt a little girl but on occasion will do Foster Care. This little one (5) has been with us a week.

Anyways I hear her saying her prayers. Asking for her family to be watched over and how she hopes the day will come soon when she can be with them again.

That was just like right in the feels. Certainly put things in perspective and made my “problem” pretty insignificant.
Dude, I woke up 15 mins ago and only have a sip of coffee on me. Now I’m fighting back tears. You’re 100% right about perspective.

My thoughts exactly! Know of any good primitive campsites up there too?
There are tons of free camping all around Moab on BLM land. It’s all non-reservable but there is plenty it be had. Right outside of needles district on 211 (just before you get to the park entrance) there are some really nice sites and may have better luck as the ones closer to Moab fill up fast and tend to more crowded.

So, my dealer is a personal friend and I was over at his house for CIno De Mayo last night. He told me he has 2 JLUs (I know this is a 2dr thread) that have been built and are sitting in the lots at the plant for over a month each. He thinks there is a rail car shortage. That wouldn't surprise me at all. But, that will be the next issue when our Jeeps are built. Again, this is not confirmed, but those vehicles are confirmed built and sitting.

Ok, so here is a bit of a 2-door dilemma I am in. Perhaps some of you can chime in with thoughts.

When I ordered mine I left off the option for for the side steps as I figured I could do better with more protection from aftermarket. Problem is, I see nothing from aftermarket and suspect it may take awhile before we see them.

Pretty much all that is available is Mopar. Rubi rock rails do not look to offer much if any protection. Performance rails look to provide some protection but at the cheapest run 700ish. Could go with side steps which are cheaper and better than nothing I suppose. Just rather not waste money if they are just a temp solution.

So yeah, bit stumped on what to do. Any thoughts? Anyone know of aftermarket that will be available soon?

FCA withheld the specs intentionally so that MOPAR could capitalize on the new changes for JL. You could "try" to see if you can change your order now. But, if you want to add anything to your jeep for the immediate future, you only have the MOPAR parts to choose from until the other vendors catch up...

That is my understanding as well. No need to change order as they are easy to install and appear to be cheaper online. Just stinks they did not share the info. Hopefully with 2 doors rolling out vendors get their hands on them quickly

I have used the Ace Engineering rovk rails on last two jeeps and loved them. Bolt on and work with Rubicon rails. Just saw a finishing the JL 2 door set and will start selling soon. They take a beating and handle Rausch and AOAA in PA.

I spoke with some guys at Smittybilt to ask them about body armor for the 2-doors and they told me that they should start shipping 2-door aftermarket side rails in mid-June. I imagine other aftermarket vendors are similar. My original question was specific to their SRC side armor.
