Fred when did you receive you VIN. I ordered on 1/6 and my Vin number is 11,468 less then yours and my built is suppose to start this week. Did you get your VIN within a couple of days or did you have to wait?

being shipped and now people taking possession of their Jeep I think it would be helpful if we all included our order date and build specifications in our posts so we have something to compare to as we look for some bit of evidence that ours will be next to be built.

I received the EXACT same email from Nicole - word for word - on Monday. The only thing different in it was my order date of 2/1/18.

i got the exact same reply from nicole by phone! order date 1/28

VERY SIMPLE BUILD
I sat in D1 (NOT D, BUT D1) for 43 days before my build started yesterday morning. Confirmed this with 3 sources. One was very reliable upper mgt. in the Wrangler plant. Very reliable also said Jeep is struggling with parts shortages including 2 dr. Hard Tops.
My dealer is ONE HOUR by delivery truck from Toledo. Now I will probably have to wait an inordinate amount of time to receive the Jeep!

I know this may not be new news, but this is the first time I found one in transit in the 31405 zip, Sourheast, , GA/SC.
Not mine but definitely somebody’s!

Might I suggest that we also include whether your Jeep will ship by truck or train, and if train, approximately where to?

I have noticed a strong "preference" to East coast and what appear to be truck shipments. I theorize my delay is caused by rail shipments to the West, do all roads go through Alorton?

My dealer told me a while back that they often request a truck shipment as it is faster than rail for them. He is in Saugerties, NY

This is meant to provide insight & information only. Not to contradict people or ruffle feathers. I just thought sharing what I know may ease some people’s tension.

As someone who has to deal with nationwide freight, the industry as a whole is an absolute mess right now, no matter what is being transported. Both road & rail have been experiencing issues for months. In an effort to avoid road delays, people have turned to rail, which has only overwhelmed & clogged the system.

New trucking regulations dropped January 1st, there aren’t enough trucks, drivers are leaving & new drivers are scarce. Transit times are longer. Prices have sky rocketed. Dealing with freight has gone from mildly annoying to an absolute nightmare for shippers, receivers, carriers, brokers.


This is my Vida. She will be worth the wait.
Sport S, automatic, cloth seats, technology, alpine, convenience, safety, cold weather, freedom top, ordered 02/15.

Drillionaire’s guesstimate last week was that she would be built today.
Think happy thoughts!!!!!
