So funny thing for me here. The last car I bought, which I preordered, well a bunch of us were waiting and waiting for them to arrive. Well one day some guy who lived in Vancouver BC posted pics of his new ride, which we could tell was not one of the preordered ones. Near as we could tell a dealership there got two in and this guy bought one of them.

Let me tell you, people were SALTY. Few days later the preorders started popping up in the Northwest, but yeah that poor guy took a few jabs. Guess Canadians are just lucky when it comes to new vehicles.

Glad to see the wrangler coupes are moving finally.
"Coupes" lol. I guess that's technically true. Don't tell Dan or he'll talk about how the 2 door manual is "kind of a sports car" again.....

All hail the 2 door Wrangler, which apparently Canada got to have first.

News ?? My Rubicon is no longer posted on "Build a Jeep" in transit.(44720)
It is not posted on Dealer site either. Is this a sign of something good or
did they ship it TO CANADA!!!!
Hopefully its at the dealer getting detailed for you right now and they just took it off the system.

First post ... haven’t had anything to contribute since ordering, so thanks to everybody on this site for giving the rest of us plenty to read about.

Sold order delivered in Burlington, ON (Canada) so I couldn’t drive it but the Mopar guy took me for his test drive around the block. Unreal.

Loaded (minus steel bumper or tow)white rubi ... so cool to see one of these in real life haha
THAT'S MY JEEP!!! OK, actually it's not, but as far as I can tell, it could be an exact clone - and it's in CANADA!!! My order is a White Rubi V6/AT with black top and flares, all options except steel bumpers, tow, smokers and wheel upgrade. Visually, it's identical.

Oh well, mine should have rolled off of the assembly line today so it hopefully won't be far behind. Still, great to see the first real life pictures of what I can expect.

Honestly, it was kinda worse than the Jeep situation. Mazda (see car info in my profile) made a huge marketing production, and made the first 1000 Launch editions. You had to go to a site at specific time, pick manual or automatic (manuals went quick), and drop 500 down with Mazda. Mind you, they specifically said the people ordering the Launch Edition will be the first to get it. We also got a care specialist we could call or email for information.

Over the course of the next 3 months we received NO information. Turned out the care specialist had no tracking info and all they could do was help you if you had any problems with the dealership. Even that they would not help if the dealer had add on prices or the like. The way we found info was someone took a pic in Japan of the cars going on a ship, another person got name of ship, and people went and paid online ship tracking sites.

Now the kicker. Launch editions showed up on the west coast, work down from Seattle to San Diego, down thru Panama Canal, and over to east coast. Each stop dropping off Launch Editions and a mix of regular ones.

So west coast got theirs first, some people got to buy regulars, and the people on East coast last. After 3 months it was late June thru Late August for deliveries. And the whole time Launch edition people watched as others walked on lots and bought the regular ones.

Ya this was exactly that. No smokers no steel no tow. It looked aawsome....

Riding in it was smooth and boy did it have some get up and go. We whipped around for a bit and he said it handled tight. It was a lot of fun.... I read someone’s joke about 2drs being a sports car, I have to admit it actually kinda felt like that haha... I wouldn’t say the same for a JK, but this JL did.

I wondered about deliveries to Canada being quicker, and wonder if cross border rail transit isn’t in as high demand/not as many heading north vs ones being shipped all over the US?

I'm really looking forward to the performance enhancement over my '10 JKR. The JL will have 40% more power and the 8sp should keep it tightly within its powerband. Most significantly, I'm hoping the larger brakes will result in a large improvement in stopping power. That has been the single greatest issue for me in my JK.

From your lips to God's ears. I saw in the tracking data on another website that a JLU left Toledo on April 14, two days after being built, and showed up at it's Winnipeg destination yesterday. Total journey would have been under two weeks except the rail car was taken out of service for repair while loaded for a three day period. That's a remarkably short time that I hope can be repeated. Took me six weeks for the rail delivery of my current Vette and that was from the exact same starting point. GM's Vette delivery transload from truck to rail is in Toledo, right beside the Jeep plant.

Most speculated the JL would do away with the unnecessary folding windshield "feature". To pretty much anyone's surprise, they not only kept the feature, but made it easier than ever!
Yep, one of the big reasons I bought it. I'm a professional photographer and do a lot of wildlife. Now I won't have to shoot through the glass of the windshield anymore!:camera:

I got to drive a 2.0T 2-door thanks to a friend who had access to one in March. I think you're going to be very happy with it. Ride was comfortable and braking power wasn't incredible but better than I expected. It was pretty easy to get the tires squealing going around corners :)
