Been lurking for a while, finally ordered my 2-door last week. Very excited, but I know I've got a long wait, so I was reading through all the manuals and guides to pass the time. Doesn't apply to me since I went auto, but just an FYI for those with the manual: Jeep does not want to make it impossible to rock a manual Wrangler as stated here, they just want you to do it differently than you would have before. From page 200 (202 of the PDF version linked below) of the Users Guide:

If your vehicle becomes stuck in mud, sand or snow, it can often be moved using a rocking motion. Turn the steering wheel right and left to clear the area around the front wheels. For vehicles with automatic transmission, push and hold the lock button on the gear selector. Then, shift back and forth between DRIVE and REVERSE (with automatic transmission) or SECOND GEAR and REVERSE (with manual transmission), while gently pressing the accelerator. Use the least amount of accelerator pedal pressure that will maintain the rocking motion, without spinning the wheels or racing the engine.

hmm, so it'll be easy(ish) to rock Reverse and Second? Interesting.

Well I can't really speak to that - I wouldn't be able to easily rock a vehicle with a manual transmission no matter how its set up. Hence the automatic on my order. Haha. Just caught that while reading through the guide and thought it might be useful info to some.

It's not really any more difficult than rocking an automatic. Just takes a little practice .

Part two! The number I called for Jeep was 877-426-5337. I called the number 3 times. The first time I was told the Jeep was built on April 12. The second call to verify the first. I was told the Jeep was on hold because of lack of LED parts. The third call was basically (What Jeep). That is my story.

Go into any of the specific forums and there should be a big yellow button near the top that says Post New Thread.
Thanks. I clicked the post reply and that also showed my post. Will look for button.

I called the Wrangler hotline last night and they told me I've been in D status for 4 days; but I placed my order on 2/14.

Meanwhile I have a C70 w/ 2 bad front axles, 4 literally bald tires, an instrument cluster that lights up like its celebrating the 4th of July, needed new brakes back in December but decided to push it b/c I knew I was getting the JL and figured it would be better to allocate the money towards the PST. Oh and my driver door opened on the MassPike on my way home last night. ..don't get be wrong, love driving with the doors off on a wrangler, but in a volvo unexpectedly- it seriously got the juices flowing.

That being said there's some light at the end of the tunnel. Despite all this nonsense arguing FCA's responsibility, and the meaning of priority, etc. It's May!! Some of you will be receiving your JL's in the next couple days; I'm waiting patiently to see some pics and read some initial reviews. Barring some unforeseen conundrum on the supply side, my Jeep should begin being built two weeks from today.

I mean it's def not the way I expected this order process to go, but hey- you've gotta play with the hand your dealt.

With the right timing, you'll miss the love bugs
Oh, man, driving around Lake Okeechobee topless during the love bug season would be the stuff of nightmares. My Jeep goes topless/doorless all summer long but I'd seriously have to reconsider that policy.

I hope you see some movement soon! Having Jeep Beach right over in Daytona last week didn't make it any easier to practice patience in this waiting game.
I'll bet that was tough to take!!!

-With the right timing, you'll miss the love bugs and get to the Everglades before the skeeters are big enough to carry you away in your new Jeep!
:fingerscrossed:
Now that would take PERFECT timing!!! Lol!

for better or worse, i placed an order in january - sport s with pst - and they reset, again, for third time to “D” status as of yesterday.

normally i’d be bummed, but this time it actually feels real! hoping for delivery between late may to mid june...

The curse of the dreaded PST.

Could be worse, the hotline is telling me that mine is built and ready to ship but they have no clue where to ship it to. Waiting on a call back from a case manager right now.
