I wonder if the dealerships know something's up? I just got a call from one of the dealerships I went shopping at back in February , asking me if I was still in the market cause they have some great dea

I hope they don't fall to 10% FCA might decide its not worth building the 2drs anymore. We see how much importance they placed on producing the 2 drs this year.
it will become their specialty vehicle and they’ll just charge more! figure whole brand does about 1.5 million jeeps globally - that’s all cars under brand like wrangler, renegade, cherokee etc - about 1m of those in USA - of those, about 250k are wranglers, and of those, about 50k are 2-doors...and of those 50k, i suspect a fraction were or are ever preordered by serious enthusiasts like those on this forum - my guess still sits at well under 10k preorders, total.

I know Jeep chat isn’t always the most reliable source of information, but here’s what I got from mine. Now mind you I don’t know how early you were able to order 2 doors so this info may or may not be any good. Anyways in my chat today I got the 2 door production is to begin sometime in April statement, then was told that mine probably wouldn’t be built until sometime in May since I ordered in early February and that the orders from SEPTEMBER - January would be filled first. Obviously that should be the case, first come first serve, but were they even able to be ordered way back in September? If so then May would be a pretty realistic answer from her.
Pretty sure 2-door order banks didn't even open until 12/5/17. I ordered 12/7/17.

That’s what I was thinking (and hoping) was they didn’t open as early she said. If not then maybe my early February order will be gotten to a little quicker.

That's my recollection, too, and it was 2 weeks after the banks opened that pricing came out. I remember because I didn't want to order without seeing the pricing, and so I waited for that become available before pulling the trigger (on 12/23).

I kinda wish people would stop posting about their interactions with Jeep Chat. They're not a good source, IMO. Cough up a couple of bucks for a paid tracking service like the one offered by @JLWF Dealer Guy. Until I see his spreadsheet fill up with D1 statuses I'm not going to get excited.

I have a couple 2 doors that internally show D1 and a estimated ship date. We all understand that to be the build date and not the real ship date. I'm guessing the first few are going to be actually being built this week and hopefully shipping by the end of the month. That is as long as what we have gathered from the 4 door production rings true on these. :fingerscrossed:

@JLWF Dealer Guy , are your 2 D1’s manual transmissions like the others we have heard about?

Just checked on mine today and got this response:
"please be advised at 2-Door Wrangler production is not slated to begin until sometime this month. I would encourage you to contact me back in early-May for updates, as I would be happy to keep you apprised of the production progress of your 2018 Jeep Wrangler order"
I ordered a 2Dr Rubicon, Auto, Hard Top, Red March 4th
Status D

I chatted today, also ordered early February, was told it should go into production by end of April, for what it is worth. But this is consistent with them telling me about a month ago in an email that it would be end of April.

I am also new to the thread, which I do read everyday and find a lot of useful information. As others, I am waiting for my 2 dr Rubi to be built. So question? Mine is being built as a Employe order and was told by a senior manager who dealt with my case on my old Wrangler. That it will be a priority build. Is it true that mine will be one of the first.
thanks Roket
I'd love to say, "you bet!". But I don't know, or even know of a way TO know. If you know what I mean...?

I can only wish you luck and hope that yours is a priority build. How long has it been since you've ordered and put down a deposit? Just curious.

I know I shouldn’t have believed them. Jeep chat got my hopes up telling me KZ status for my 2dr Rubicon. My dealer said it still sits at D.
