The most simple answers are: increased towing, increased hauling, I like silver on the 2drs and white on the 4drs. Off road the pros & cons equal out. Hoping to get a 4dr actually delivered as opposed to continual delays with the 2dr. I've finally reconciled that for me a diesel isn't the best choice and the gas V6 will be enough however I reserve the right to trade up to a turbo gas V6 or Hemi.

I think the tow rates are the same but you would have a larger cargo rate. I was just curious, what ever the reason it is your reason. Good luck with it

2dr tows 2000lbs 4dr- 3500lbs

I understand historically and currently max tow rating for 2dr is 2,000 lbs and 4dr is 3,500 lbs because of wheelbase length.
I'm not aware of FCA building turbos with warranty available for the JL or JLU gas V6.
Point me in the right direction and watch me order.

This in encouraging if really true

Consistent with some claims turbo would be first

Mgmt probably targeted the reschedule for beginning of April but told customer service to say mid-April to give a little cushion

The nicknames for the 2 turbos on the build sheet are almost the exact same which seems a bit odd

I've taken a few polls, responded to a few threads and watched the site proliferate to the point of not being sure where to make this confession: I have cancelled my 70 day old all silver 2DR Rubicon order and have replaced it with an all white 4dr Rubicon order. I also want to take this opportunity to thank the hosts and members of this forum for helping me get thru the last two winters.

Keep in mind if your two door order was assigned a VIN that vehicle will be produced. I hope you gave it enough thought so you won't have any regrets when you see the beautiful two door's start to show up as you cruise down the road in your stretched out Wrangler. You may even see yours at the dealer going to some very lucky customer!

Well, after lurking on this forum since last fall and placing a 2 door rubicon order on January 25th I finally decided to join the forum. I unfortunately am still... yup still... in D status as there is now the production delay for LED headlights...
Ugh...
I am happy to join this purgatory and now be a small part of this never ending story.

For what it's worth, this is what I was told tonight by Jeep Chat on my 2DR Rubi order although I am not overly excited on the accuracy just yet as we all know it's subject to more delays.

Brittaney: I see here that all of the materials needed to start the build process have been received. The vehicle should be entering the build process very soon.

Brian: So are you showing a D or D1 status? Have two doors begun production yet?

Brittaney: D1, and we have an ETA for the start date of 5/14/18

Brian: I see. Any ETA on ship date?

Brittaney: So sorry that was the wrong date 4/9/18 is the correct date, currently there is not ETA for a ship date as the vehicle is not yet built

Brian: So the build process should be starting in 5 days?

Brittaney: yes.

Brian: Very good. Thank you for your time Brittaney.
