I was never in JB despite the texts. The salesman lied to me. Confirmed with management.

I was confirmed in D1 and now I am back to D. I believe they are popping people into D1 that are getting close to their time period limit for D, then reverting us back into D to restart that time period over again.

Order date 1/27.

You have been able to order the turbo 4 from dealers for at least 2 weeks maybe longer. It's a higher profit margin so I'm not surprised it came first. Sucks but not surprised.
I figured that the dealer ordering system allowed you to order a turbo. Another one of FCA's glitches where their online build system doesn't allow this.

I'm not in the market for a turbo anyway, was hoping the 3.6 2 door would be produced at the same time. My dealer says the 3.6 2 door will be produced as well from the onset. Only time will tell if my dealer is getting correct info.

If it is happening, I doubt that’s the reason. The increased profit margin is likely in the $100-$200 range per vehicle which is not significant. It’s also not new money. They get an extra $100-$200 a couple of months earlier than if built in order of sale. The net monetary benefit is like $1.23 per vehicle which is interest earned on a couple hundred bucks over a couple of months.

No, it’s more likely FCA wants to manage the risk of quality issues in both a new engine and a new model at the same time. There is only one assembly line for JL’s so any quality issue puts the entire production at risk. Better to manage both these risks at once than have two separate introductions with two points of impact to production.

I posted last night my frustrations in this thread and etc and all of a sudden I get this from my dealer this morning. Yes, two door Rubi as I am about to pull the trigger on something else (Grand Cherokee Altitude). Apparently I am in D1.

"Guess what??? You have an estimated ship date assigned of April 10th!"

I hope that's right but if I were you I'd think early May in my head. Anything sooner is a bonus. Personally I'm telling myself June...

Really getting crappy taste for Jeep over this. I've posted on this thread as well as I ordered 1/22 for my 2 door. Waiting like all others...Mostly. Except now I have been shopping Jeep and other brands. Found a used 2017 Rubi 2 door loaded with 2,000 miles. Every bell and whistle possible, even 4.10 with automatic for $34,500, original MSRP of $45,000.
I am a couple states north and new JK Rubicon two doors are $2k to $5k off MSRP. I think you could negotiate the other discounts and get a better deal. The JL's are nice, but with the frame twist issues, you might want to wait until that gets sorted out before delivery. It's okay to get a JK until these supply or quality issues have been remedied.

That’d be crazy to buy a JK at only $5k off MSRP. I got about $5k off MSRP on my JL factory order. I could see $8-$12k off MSRP on a JK being a good deal.

One person writes on the internet , that the uncles cousins sisters roommate heard from the janitor at the plant that the hard tops aren't going on right , and everyone just believes it. I don't believe what I read in the NY times anymore let alone from some stranger on the net!

I’m telling myself July, and I ordered 3 months ago...

The way mojito keeps getting pushed back, my guess of June delivery is slowly turning into July as well. Maybe Jeep will stop producing JLUs and start cranking out JL orders for a few weeks to catch up on orders?

One thing has changed, I ordered a 2dr, loaded rubi with softtop 12/15. I have been in and out of D several times and chat has never had a clue what was going on. One time, they swore my vin & Von did not exists. But always would start with ā€œCongradulations on your new purchase.........ā€ as well as other jibberish. Now it’s just ā€œwhat do you wantā€....back in D.

That would be nice, but I doubt it. It’s OK. I’d rather have mine built correctly than built tomorrow. I’m also not at all interested in BSG, the 3/1 price increase, or the MY19 increase that will surely come. So, back to waiting. I’m not even going to check my status until I see some evidence that production has started.

I think having a bunch of kids, working in a manufacturing and heavily customer support field in a giant company has prepared me well for this.

My patience level is off the charts and my ability to deal with stupid is unparalleled. As long as my Jeep works well when I get it, the other stuff that comes with it doesn't phase me .
appreciate the great sense of humor, above ... thank you
