Camped at a lil desert oasis this weekend. Its a pay site, which is unusual for us, but they have hot springs! Its a throwback place for sure, with peacocks, pheasants, chickens and pot belly pigs roaming the premises. Ought to be interesting no cameras or clothes allowed at the tubs.

Morning Lydia. How have ya been?

Looks like 2019's are on order and being built. The wait for the next model year is in effect.
G’morning, a day late! Sorry, my alerts don’t always seem to come through. Maybe cuz I’ve been so sporadic on here lately.
I’ve been busy! Enjoying a quiet weekend at home, before I head out again next weekend with my nieces for their Christmas trip!
I don’t miss the build wait one bit. Still waiting on the aftermarket though! :giggle::time:

That's the way we were. Gotta focus on delivery day plans. What's important to do as soon as you get her?

In hind sight I think I would have put the clear bra on, Jeep or not the hinges, back fenders, and hood take a beating.
Is it the front grill and the front edge of the hood that takes the beating? I usually install clear bras on my cars but the majority of them are low sport cars and sedans. I did not have clear bras on my previous 2 Wranglers. Now you have me considering it? I am also reconsidering painted fenders just for the maintenance.

Good morning all. Think I need a clear bra on my keyboard - just dumped a half cup of coffee. Glad it was the portable keyboard and not the laptop. Still seems to be working. Picked up a couple items for "Mo" since they were on sale at Costco. A new fire extinguisher and a compact battery jumper (no more tangled jumper cables). Turned in the custom plates from my JK yesterday - kept one for the garage. Garage seems empty with just my wife's car :)

A note on the Costco battery jumper if it's the smaller Winplus glove box model. It is great for emergency charging a cell phone. Jumps cars with no problem in warm weather. Cold weather cuts the performance a LOT. Try storing it someplace warm before using it. It works but I would not rely on it in cold temps if it has been stored in the vehicle. It also need to be connected really well.

I'd planned to paint the grill black at some point, but didn't think about the leading edge of the hood. I've two nice chips on that edge already. Don't really like the wind deflectors you can put there but maybe?

I also wanted the painted fenders, but happy I didn't. the dings you get in the rear fenders from these tires are crazy. lol

I think once the trail rash sets in I'll be glad I didn't spend the money but for now I'm hovering like a protective father. :swear:

Called TypeS (by Winplus), similar to the basic Winplus that Costco carries but more powerful and $10 less expensive. Based on the instructions I'll make sure it is charged every three months. Hope to never use it but definitely more convenient for helping others without having to maneuver vehicles :)

Recently, I find myself checking my build status 4x a day. I'm like some nervous new Father pacing outside the maternity ward. lol

Yup...that’s how it is. JG was a good site for us waiting on our 2018. Had to get the 35$ premium membership, but was worth it, to see how production and delivery was coming along. I would check it , like, every 2 hours while awake...

Howdy folks! Hope all is well for my 2-door brothers and sisters.

Got to do some proper off-roading yesterday. It was.... Wild! With all the rain we have had recently some basic trails were washed out, and the 3-5 rated trails were pretty gnarly with mud.

The plan was to go with a friend who goes all the time and do basics. We met up with some other very experienced local Jeepers, and the guy leading the pack said we would be hitting some “hard but kinda easy trails and nothing you can’t handle” places.

Let me say..... several spots my butt was clenched tight and didn’t relax until I got home! One in particular had a crazy incline over ledges and the ground was slippery mud. One guy needed a pull up and other experience folks took a couple of tries to get up. I made it through on my third try. Afterwards I looked at the map, talked with my friend to confirm and yeah..... that was Carnage Canyon, a 4.

Overall was great fun, few scuffs on fenders and a ton of mud! My Rubicon is stock, everyone with us had lifts and 37’s, and managed to keep up with the big boys. Was told I did really well but honestly I think it’s more of a testament on how capable the Rubicon is at stock.
