Took a little road trip up Mt Greylock, the highest mountain in MA at 4391' MSL with an 8 mile road to the top. I have to say the automatic transmission has come a long way from when I last drove a TJ with one. It is like you are driving a standard, as it always is in the right gear. The TJ used to always want to be in a higher gear so when going up a hill you had to really get into the gas to get it to downshift, and as soon as you let up it went back to a higher gear and you immediately started slowing up again. No gear searching at all in the JL, it is so awesome! And going downhill it downshifts itself as well, keeping your speed without needing much braking. Gas mileage seems to have leveled out to a solid 21. Not bad for a Rubi with the 410 gears. Not one complaint. I did get the cruise control recall work completed at a local dealer and was done in about half an hour, no big deal.
