ok jeeple, i have a question. notice on the left of the front bumper, there is a hole there after you pull the wing pieces off. anyone know what its for? im thinking for my cb antenna would be a good temp spot to install. any ideas?

I just went out and looked at it. I would put a grommet in it and run the wires
through for a light bar. Makes for a clean way to look good. This thread really
helps out for all of us. So many ideas, what you can and can not do, and endless
questions answered. Just don't know were all of us would be without each other.

but how heavy is the stuff? it doesnt throw the wheel balance off?

No. It's not like bedliner. It's just thin rubber. Kinda like wire insulation.

Soft top folded doesn't qualify as naked. Exposed, but not naked.

I'm seeing that I will have to run that way if I want no top. Still not even a bikini available, though to be fair we have only just begun to see 2 door deliveries.

So jg says I am in I as of 6/29. Last note stated “Ingate / Rebay at Facility 06/30/18 01:55:00 AM TOLEDO - RAIL VDC“.

What is odd to me is that time stamp. The update was from 1AM EST but the time stamp is 55 minutes later. Maybe I got the time travel option, will have to get it up to 88mph when I get it.

Also going to dig around and see what Rail VDC is.

That makes sense. Guess you'd have to take her top all the way off (along with the doors, etc.) to be "naked." As she is right now, her top isn't actually off and therefore only "exposed."

we are going to give it a go today and use it as an antenna mount for the cb. hopefully pics up soon, soon as i get off my butt and away from this forum! lol

It’s not heavy. My friend who is doing it for me is a complete vehicle guru. He never mentioned it being an issue & is now considering doing it on one of his own vehicles.

No joke. That’s what we used.

I used 5 cans of white to spray the tub in my boy's bathroom. Looks and worked GREAT! (didn't like to stick to the silicone caulk though, and yes I had positive airflow and a respirator. )

I used black paint for the wheels on my Camaro, but wish I had painted them with the rubber stuff. Could have removed it easily when it was time to trade it in and be "100%" stock. Your wheels look great, I may do that to my Mojito if it ever comes in...

Awesome! I am in the LA area too and mine has been in a lot somewhere for a week... waiting to trailer to dealer. UGH! Some 30 miles away!!!

I've been patient and maintained a good attitude until now. Ordered 2/15, 134 days ago, the snow has thawed, my local trails have opened and I don't have a Jeep. Seeing the 2019 info trickle out changed my attitude. I would have waited for '19 if I knew it would be this long.

I still believe Jeep waited with 2 door production for business reasons, they had to get the 4 door customers when they could because those not going offroad can satisfy their needs with any SUV. 2 door purists have no other option so they will wait.

The irony is that the business interest required Jeep to hold off on it's most loyal customers. Boo!

Completely agree. I ordered a couple days after you - NEVER thought it would be this long. Don't 19's come out in August? I have never had such anxiety over ordering a vehicle... its become an obsession, daily checking this forum, checking with the dealer weekly. I need professional help. LOL The 2-door delays are truly a mystery. There is no reason FCA could not produce them at the same time as JLUs.

Mine is sitting on a lot, reportedly 30 miles from the dealer waiting for a carrier. It has been there over a week.

2018 2 doors are gonna be quite limited in numbers compared to earlier and later years. And should be the only JLs without BSG tech.

Honestly I think they might be sought after in the future. There should be a 2018 2 door bumper sticker club
