By the time you get your Jeep you will have to change your name to OldGuyOldJeep!

Seriously though I feel for you folks who ordered in December and January. You should have been the firsts to get built when the PST hit the line.

And I am betting the PST is still the hold up. Hell I am kicking myself for going PST on the new order. Bet if I went hardtop I would be in D1 soon if not already.
Go read the “hard top whistles” thread. PST for the win!

I think all Jeeps leak. Maybe check out a G wagon.
My 15 JKU never leaked with the hardtop or soft top on and I took it thru carwashes all the time. The JL shouldn't leak

For you guys/gals waiting for your 2 drs...

Well you know I got my a week ago today.. Just wanted to mention a few things..

  • The fold-able rear headrests are absolutely TERRIFIC!
  • Little LED light in the cargo area really is a plus
  • Best rear wiper ever on a Wrangler. Does not obstruct view. Wiper stays up when you lift it up when cleaning window
  • Rear wiper fluid dripped but a small whole in fluid reservoir cap seems to have cured that issue on my JL
  • Steering is a tad looser then the 2 dr. JK. I found that having tire psi @ 36# really minimizes the issue
  • Air noise when driving is similar to the JK's. If you were used to driving a Prius or a Honda you'd swear there was an issue
  • Glove box is narrower and deeper
  • Self dimming rear view mirror (optional) is very compared to the similar offering on the JK
  • Alpine sound on the JL 2dr. shines in comparison to the upgraded sound pkg. in the JK
  • Google Maps and Waze displaying/working on the 8.4 Infotainment Center (optional) is the hoot! Terrific and works well
  • When hand drying (I use leaf blower first) the 2 dr. JL there are far fewer obstacles/grabby points that affect the towel
  • 8 speed Auto is real nice
  • This 3.6L really puts the older 3.6L to shame in regard to pickup... get up and go....
  • Windows on JL are larger then the JK's so outside is more viewable & inside is brighter
  • Heating/Cooling and controls of same are very well implemented. Sync'ed driver/passenger is real nice
  • I'm 6' tall and lots of driver's leg room, etc.. Lots if head room
  • At speeds above 60 mph, no more hood buffering
  • LED headlights are way bright... real nice. Thanks to Tazer JL, I can use fogs with brights for real bright lighting in deer country
  • Remote Proximity (optional) works well
  • ESS sucked terribly! Disable it easily with the Tazer JL
  • Center console cup holders are way way nicer then on the JK
  • Rubicon 2dr. ride is not that much more rough then a 2 dr. Sahara JK
  • Operating front seats forward and backward is a learning process.
  • Little release handle on top of front seats does the job but careful it seems flimsy
  • All welds, paint and such on my JL are aok with visual inspection
  • Real muffler stands out like a sore thumb but is easily paint-able. You do not need to use heat proof paint
  • Back-up camera working well at 50 mi. on odometer
  • Tazer JL easily disables annoying seat belt chime, Nav restrictions, Backup camera when moving forward restriction and more
  • Wheel well plastics are very accessible, cover well and very easy to clean
  • Tow package 4 and 7 pin box on back (optional) is very nice and not flimsy/cheapy
  • Leather seats (optional) very comfortable with very good back support
  • Center console release levers are separated differently and easier to feel for / use in comparison to the JK's
  • Front seat belts retract more forcefully then on the JK which is a plus
  • Side view mirror adjusters are way better in regard to their placement
  • Sirius XM reception drops in and out far more then on the Jk
  • Remote Start with FOB (optional) Distance and still remote start is very very good
  • Doors close very very easy in comparison to the Jk. No more slamming necessary
  • Doors stay open when you open them. No more slamming door on your leg
  • New hood retainers are good, but you have to watch when you lower the hood or you capture the catch part of the mechanism
Wow!!! This is amazing. Thank you for being so generous with your time and feedback. Greatly appreciated!
If you get tired of your day job, you have a bright future ahead of you in the growing field of Jeep reviews...

Now I'm really confused. I stopped in a dealer on the way home from work. There are 4 2door Sports sitting in the lot.
One each of Red, White, Granite, and Black. All hard top, but I looked into each one and the soft tops are in bags on the back seat. All are dealer stock and for sale. In London, Ontario.
I ordered mine from another ( smaller ) dealer in the same city. Still waiting..
Probably a silly question but, are you sure that was not the bag for the 2 removable pieces of hard top?

Are you sure they are dealer stock? Did you ask? If so we can all thank
Jeep for "Kicking us in the teeth while we're down" No matter how much we
complain and hate the service no one at Jeep cares about any of us.
Does ANYONE have an Email address for 1 person at Jeep Corp H.Q. ?
I would and I am sure others would like to send a kind Email to inform
them how great of a launch the 2dr. JL has been for us.

If I were a cynical person, I'd suspect the company's sales/marketing group may simply be prioritizing profit, and thereby favoring dealer inventory over sold orders, especially those sold prior to the recent price increase (despite rhetoric to the contrary). As a sold order may simply be considered a bird-in-hand, while absents of inventory may result in the loss of a new sale. This is how a bean-counter would run a business, as although they may lose loyal customers longer term, they'd likely gain in the short-term; being how many have run otherwise great businesses into the ground. (I certainly hope this is not the case, but do note the delivery of 4-doors appear to remain prioritized over 2-doors, even subsequent to manufacturing for some reason.)
Since I didn’t put a deposit, I can get a stock 2 door, should a good one show up. Dealer said “any day now”, but, whatever. It’s BS. I’m trying to be patient but it is getting hard. If I found one I like, would not hesitate a second!

Everybody remember that all Jeeps are made in Toledo. For the whole world - for everyone.
Also, dealerships could have ordered and bought some Jeeps before any of their customers.
And finally, unless you are a dealership, government, or major business, you are not a FCA “customer”. All the Jeep shows/hype, sales #s, and advertising is for the Dealerships, not us (directly). FCA does not get money from us.
Yes, I agree that when you order a product, anything more than 90 days is unacceptable - a total failure of planning and execution. For a major mass produced item like an automobile, 30 to 60 days is too long. They should not have taken orders until they could reasonably fill them.

I want a Wrangler JL, I am waiting. I will be happy to get it. I will not forget how badly they screwed up.

P.S. given everything FCA and most of the dealerships have done, I can only conclude that all of us waiting is not a big problem to them or it is one that they cannot manage. Pick one: Don’t Care / Incompetent.
Actually, you can pick 2.

My dealer called Friday and said my jeep was in paint. Today it has shown up as "In Transit". This is to central Indiana.

Order 1/9 Red Ruby everything but painted top and fenders, no headliner and not a turbo.
It does have steel bumpers.

received this email today . . . . . . . . . just that I would post the exact email - have you guys received the same?

Dear James,

This is a courtesy email update with regards to your 2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon order.

Our resources indicate your vehicle has been released by the plant and is currently in the shipping stages. Due to the high volume of all-new Wrangler models in the shipping stage, the suppliers that transport our vehicles are backlogged and working as quickly as they can to get these vehicles delivered to the dealership.

I will continue to track the status of your 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL order & will provide any updates as they become available.

We appreciate your patience as we launch this exciting new product.

Sincerely,

Jeff

If the story about not producing PSTs until July is true, I am DONE!

One 2 dr JL Rubi within 150 miles of me AND it has a PST! Seems crazy after what others have been told. If anyone wants to look it is at Wickstrom Jeep, Barrington, IL.

Well guys, I’ve been reading this forum since day one. I have been blessed with my 2 door JL. Called last Wednesday and moved from D1 to F and then I got a email from Cryp with the build sheet and then got a email for my sticker the next morning. My dealer called me yesterday afternoon and said my jeep had been picked up from the Nitro yard and it was delivered this morning and I just picked it up a hour ago!
