What light lit up? The actual check engine light or a light that looked like a BATTERY? I am asking because I took a brand new 2.0 out for a test drive and the light that looks like a BATTERY lit up. The BATTERY light started flickering a mile during the drive, then turned off, then turned back on for a few minutes, then turned off, then back on after a couple of more miles. It eventually stayed on. This was a brand new JL with less then 25 miles on it. It was the only JL 2.0 they had on the lot.

I just remembered the BATTERY light I am talking about might not be the same on other JLs, depending on models. The dash or instrument cluster is different depending on the model. I should note the JL I drove was a basic 2.0 Sport. It was the only 2.0 on the lot. I actually wanted to try a Rubicon but they only had the Basic Sport.
it was the check engine light.

Its not the bsg version
Don't leave me "hanging" with an incomplete response, please . . . What other current Jeep "mild Hybrid" system is there? If your referring to the ESS - which I have on my 2016 WK2 (and dislike) - I did not realize FCA refers to IT as a "mild hybrid"!? This question is in no-way meant to be a slight, or derogatory . . . just looking for clarification. Thanks.

ESS is not the same as BSG (eTorque). Ram trucks will have eTorque for 2019.
The US Wrangler is the only one that has BSG with the 2.0L.

Hi FUHL . . . sure I know that and have many videos under my belt - some fairly good at explaining the differences and nuances of each, so I've got a decent grasp of it (I hope, ha?). Also fully aware & knowledgable about most things DT, as I've been very interested in IT for about a year - mostly the V6 w/eTorque (mostly for the milage improvement and better ESS performance over the current ESS without (as in my WK2) which is lack-luster at best (for my vehicle). Let me clear my throat . . .; ah better . . . so now I have the added dilemma of really liking the new JL - also as an eTorque. I am patiently waiting for some of the "bugs" to get worked out and SEE real world stats for the system as a whole for the 2.0 & the 3.6. Been in the CDRJ "family" literally since I can remember (about age 6?) - that was a LONG time ago - I shudder to think! Well FUHL if you see a Recon Green WK2 with Rhino Rack - possibly pulling a 14ft. skiff . . . stop me, say hi and lets go grab a beer & burger. I'm just down the road a bit in WA.
Spokane area. ps, sorry didn't mean to hijack . . . back to the mechanicalness stuff

And 2019 Cherokee's.
Cherokees do not have the BSG, only the 2.0 T, Rams will have the BSG on the 3.6 and optional on the Hemi 5.7, but no 2.0 in a Ram

The title of the thread should be "..Electrical issues" not Mechanical.

Sorry for the delay . . . the DT is the designator (?) for the 2019 RAM 1500 - the previous 1500 was the DS, and IT is just me accentuating my referral back to the DT . . . :)

I had a problem with my turbo right on the way home - load high pressure gas discharge sound under acceleration/loss of power. I did not push it during the test drive - I should have.
Took it back to the dealer with 50 miles in the car - it turned out to be a missing hose clamp on the turbo. I love this jeep - but have a nasty feeling I'm going to regret this.
I think I just saw service bulletin on your problem. I will see if I can find it.

I have a 2019 Rubicon 2.0 turbo within 24 hours of driving off the lot 227 miles the engine light came on. This is my 2nd Rubicon the last one I owned for 46 days than Chrysler bought it back as a lemon, now this one does it too. I live my Jeep but I can’t afford to keep having to leave work and go to the service department

You should start a thread in the issues and troubleshooting section. This doesn't even look engine specific, and as you admitted, isn't related to this thread. You'll get a lot more help in the appropriate forum. Good luck!

Just bought a 2018 2.0. Check engine light on way home from dealer. Taken back next day. Put new pcv on, service drove it 20 miles and called to say fixed. We picked up and engine light came on after 5 miles. Turned around and taken back to service. Started a Star whatever. Not happy. Service has driven it more than us. Now waiting to see if I they can find problems. Have a case manager. Want to do smoke test on Monday. Not very happy on brand new vehicle. Regret purchase but wanted another Wrangler
