I had bought a WolfBox 840H dash camera a while back and commented on a post about my impression of it. Full disclosure, WolfBox reached out to ask if I'd review their G900 camera. This is a review of their G900 rearview mirror camera. This camera is a dual channel camera (front camera attached to rearview display and a rear camera). The display is shaped like a rearview mirror and attaches to your existing mirror with some rubber elastic fasteners (two sizes provided to find a good secure fit). In my 2024 JL 2door I am using the smaller size fasteners and the camera display is very secure. The G900 camera is a 4K front camera and 2.5K rear camera. The rear camera is IP68 rated water proof. I have my rear camera attached to the top of the third brake light. It is fastened with provided 3M heavy duty tape. It has been through, cold, warm, rain, ice and it still remains fastened to the top of the third brake light. The function of the camera has been great. The only drawback to having the camera mounted outside and exposed as I do is that when it rains and moisture forms on the camera lens it distorts the view in the display. But I've noticed that while driving for a bit, the view clears up. I mounted the rear camera in this location because I have a soft top and not a suitable location inside to mount the camera.
1. The display that mounts to the rearview mirror is 12" long. This view is of the rear camera.
2. The camera power cable, GPS cable, and rear camera cable all are routed through the overhead console, down the passenger A-frame pillar, behind the dashboard and glove box, and down to the floorboard. The rear camera cord is routed down the passenger side trim, under the carpet and to the back panel, and out the grommet on the rear door. The power cord is routed from behind the glovebox, down into the passenger floorboard under the carpet. I am using the 12 Volt plug in to power the camera.
3. The rear camera is mounted on top of the third brake light with 3M heavy duty tape. It has stayed secure through all sorts of weather here in southeast Texas.
4. Here is a sample of video from the front camera. I do have a gripe with the front crash avoidance camera box that takes up a third of the top right of this video. That is a drawback to using this camera on the 2024 Jeep JL. They all come standard with this camera mounted in front of the rearview mirror, a big black plastic box containing the camera.
