Sales data released by Stellantis reveal that a total of 37,971 examples of the Wrangler were sold last quarter (Q1 2023). While that represents a 17% decrease from the 45,551 units that were sold in Q1 2022,
Meanwhile, Ford was able to sell 32,430 examples of the Bronco in the United States last quarter. While that is 5,541 vehicles shy of what Jeep was able to sell, it is a much better performance than Q1 2022 when Jeep sold almost 22,000 more Wranglers than Ford was able to sell Broncos. Additionally, whereas sales of the Jeep Wrangler dropped by 17% this quarter, sales of the Bronco spiked by a significant 37.6% from the 23,573 units that were sold in Q1 2022.
It is understood that the popularity of certain Bronco models, such as the Outer Banks and Raptor, has allowed Ford to reduce Jeep’s lead.

I will comment..I'm an independent front suspension GM truck guy for towing my boat and traveling but off road I have to go with straight axle. As far as looks, I have had several 80's Broncos and really liked them with the top off but I have been in and around these new 'Broncos" and I just can't!! This is hideous..

Some of the Bronco sales rise must be due to Ford catching up on demand? Since last year’s quarter numbers were limited by availability? That either means 1) that this Bronco bump is just a temporary catching up and not a flyway trend. Or 2) it means the new Bronco would have outsold the JL long ago if Ford could have met demand and this is the trend catching up.

Good, I hope it continues to do well. Competition breeds innovation, and consumers are the victors. We've already seen Jeep come out with a lot of new options in response to Bronco, now maybe they'll compete on pricing and drive prices down hah.....

I don't know how the Bronco will do in the long run, but I'm glad to have it take the buyers who would do this kind of stuff with their vehicles.

I like the Bronco well enough. If Wranglers weren’t around, I’d get one. But I too like stick axles too much to switch.

There are tons of Broncos in the Austin area. I have yet to see one with its top off and/or the doors off. Literally, not once.

I've been saying since day 1, don't sleep on the Bronco. They're being taken on the toughest trails in Moab and on the Rubicon.... and oh btw, tie rod and steering issues have some solutions now. A lifted Bronco on 37's can keep up with a lifted Jeep on 37s. Now all of a sudden you can do all of those things, and be more comfortable? Better technology? More cargo space? Better on-road ride? No wonder sales are catching up.

I own a JLUR-XR and a 4dr Badsquatch, and I wheel them both. Again, from day 1, I've said Jeep needs to be worried.

Ford releases Sasquatch package.... Jeep responds with XR package
Ford has optional 12" screen... Jeep tries to one-up with a 12.3"
Ford had both snorkel and winch on certain trims... now suddenly they're options on Jeep

Jeep is playing catch up, and it's hurting them. I think this full float rear axle with 5000 lbs towing capacity is their first attempt at taking it back. EDIT: The Bronco Raptor has 4500 lbs towing, so even this is a catch-up play.

I wish Jeep would extend the 2 door just a touch. Give us the LJ again. I want to be able to put a small cooler behind the rear seat. But, Jeep clearly doesn't care about the 2 door anymore.

Ford can drive up the sides of the grand canyon in 10th gear with the bronco for all I care. With few exceptions they still can't mass produce a good looking vehicle to save their life. I'll death wobble all over the mall parking lot to not be seen in this POS.

Because a low end trim model with no lift or tires is sooooo much sexier for the jeep? That argument feels disingenuous...
EDIT: This is even a Sahara, which is taller than a sport!

I still can't buy a Bronco at a normal price so I'll not test drive those anytime soon. Either you can't order one at all, or you have to order one and Ford forces you to still be at the mercy of a crooked dealership playing games, or you can buy a green one right off the lot and really get toasted for the luxury of buying from the same crook.
Maybe someday though ?

Let's be fair. Absolute base model JL from the rear with the top folded all the way down and doors off.

Yeah, I still think the Jeep looks better.
