Surely there weren’t that many antenna haters. This has to be only to pad their pockets with higher priced windshields.

Geez…

https://www.foxnews.com/auto/2024-jeep-wrangler-losing-old-school-feature-good-reason

Jeep Senior Vice President Jim Morrison enters The Fox Garage to talk about the redesigned 2024 Wrangler and the new features that have been added to the 4x4 SUV.
The Jeep Wrangler has been updated for 2024 with new style and technology, but lost something in the process.

Its classic whip antenna.

It still has AM/FM radio, but the antenna has been integrated into the windshield where it can't get caught on low-hanging branches off-road or in car wash brushes after a dirty day in the woods.

It's one of several small changes to the Wrangler that add up to a better SUV.

I’d Rather Talk Jeep’s!
The other day I was just thinking to myself, “hmm, I wonder what would happen if I relocated the antenna up under my SkyOne touch top?”

I like that they removed it. One of my first mods was to switch to a shorty. Everyone knows what bug magnets our windshields are and the full length was always in the way when I would try to clean the windshield.

Yeah it will probably cost more to replace it but I have a $50 deductible.

edit— same with the bigger screen and the rectangular vents that don’t adjust worth a damn

I personally have never liked whip antenna. I think any vehicle looks sleeker with an integrated one. To me its a nice change.
In the voice of “Yoda”…

“Study Aerodynamics you must, sleek it is not…”

It was a good way to gauge if you’d fit in a parking garage.
lol if i'm in a low garage I creep up with my hand straight up to see if I can hit the height bar, so my method would still work if you have long enough arms

Do you have T-Rex arms? I’ve literally never had that problem cleaning the windshield.

And hopefully you understand I’m joking on you Apex.

For a vehicle with a steep windshield that's known to be prone to breaking, this seems like a really bad idea imo.
Agreed. Right now our windshields aren't exactly pocket change, but they're a lot cheaper than many other cars. We really don't need $1k+ windshields to add to our pain.
