Today is 1/17/23 and the "next available appointment" for my jeep is 3/28/23.

Not a big deal to me at all as they just need to add Loctite to the two water pump bolts. It's not leaking and totally drivable. But it seems like every dealer is buried with too much service work and not enough technicians. I always thought a decent tech could make a decent living and raise a family. (In fact, I know a few who have done just that.) As a result, dealerships would apologize if they had to make you wait a week. Now it just seems like no one wants to work anymore.

Buying $100k in tools just to beat your body up for your whole career is not a great gig anymore. My dad is a tech and he is plain wore out. I wouldn't recommend anyone do it. There are much easier easier trades that pay better.

Watch those bolts closely! I just got over this with my dealer. Started my Saturday without drama, 3 hours later, puddle under my JL in the garage. I tightened the bolts enough to stem the flow, ran to the dealer (in another vehicle) to get it some replacement coolant and expressed my frustrations to the service writer who in turn got me in Monday morning. Point being, things went south in only a few hours, no drops left behind prior. I am in, under, or around my JL with high frequency, I would have noticed any spots on the floor or undercarriage. Keep a close eye on it!

that how this issue presents itself. With my I was at a stop light close to the house and smelled coolant but engine temp was fine. Got back to the house opened the hood and didn't see any issue. Turned the Jeep off turned to walk in the house only to look back and see all of the coolant draining out of the engine on to my driveway

I do so hope this level of unmitigated irony is intentional... :)

In all seriousness, though; I genuinely believe people want to work, contribute to society, and provide for themselves and/or their families.

I think we've just reached a point in our society where people see the disparity in compensation for work and are taking a stand. Look at the ratio of Exec pay to average employee pay. Case in point, Tim Cook is being praised all over for suggesting this year's pay package should be reduced by 40% for himself. Seems like the right thing to do in an economy where tech employees are being laid off by the tens of thousands at once.

However, if you look at his pay package last year of $99,000,000 total compensation, you start to see it means jack shit. Dig deeper and you'll see that the 40% is being taken out of his stock options. He retains his $3,000,000 cash salary and $6,000,000 cash bonus and will "settle" for only $40,000,000 in stock this year.

If the mean salary at Apple is $100k (no idea what it actually is), that's a 450:1 ratio. People across all industries are becoming aware of this level of disparity and are growing increasingly tired of it.

Now, factor in this level of disparity along with jobs that take a severe physical toll on your body or a severe toll on your mental health, or where you are "the face of the company" to an seemingly increasing less polite and respectful customer base, and it paints a much different picture of why people don't want to subject themselves to these situations for unremarkable compensation.

I know this might set off a firestorm of differing opinions, but this has been my personal observation and experience in recent years. Your mileage may vary...

????

Yeah but after 35 years I earned my unemployment. At least I feel like I did.

Apple - So because one guy makes a ton of money managing a multi-billion dollar global company everyone else should make more? Is that just everyone else at Apple or the entire tech industry or just everyone everywhere? How much more should they make?

The 2.0 is having so many problems It’s clogging up the service departments. You can make yourself feel better by reading all the pro French 2.0 threads that say they never break , parts are easy, they’re awesome and way better than the simple dependable V-6. Wait till the Peugeot 2.slow it’s out of warranty and the parts are discontinued.

10 weeks to wait to have loctite applied to two bolts??
Maybe a trip to the store for some loctite, a six pack, and a wrench/ratchet/socket out of your toolbox is in order? ?
No because my jeep will show as an outstanding recall that was never done and they could use that to deny warranty.

Did you receive a recall letter/email or is there a way to check online?

Cracked coolant reservoir. My dealer initially got me in on 2/16 but bumped it up to 1/19 once they realized I have the same ZD8 campaign / recall.
