Hi,
I recently purchased a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Sahara JL Hybrid (eTorque) with only one issue - CHECK ENGINE.
Computer diagnostics revealed the following problems:
1. U003700 - HCP (Hybrid control processor)
2. U003700 - BPCM (Battery Pack Control Module)
3. B223B00 - Radio (Vehicle...
Where is a good grounding point for the negative clamp of a battery charger when attempting to charge a 2020 Jeep JLU battery (e-torque version)? I do not want to connect directly to the negative terminal of the battery to avoid spark ignition.
What grounding connections in the engine bay do you all use when jumping your Jeep JLU or using a battery charger (such as the NOCO Genius series)? The Jeep manual states to connect the negative clamp to "a good engine ground" instead of the negative battery terminal. NOCO Genius instructions...
Does anyone have any information on replacing the valve cover gasket on the 2.0L 4cyl turbo engine? So far I've learned that I have to remove the thermostat housing, drain the coolant, and remove/rotate the turbo out of the way of the valve cover. I broke a small spot of plastic on the inside...
Hey Everyone,
I have a '21 JLU Willys with the eTorque engine and about 43,000 miles on it. Recently I've noticed that at idle, or in park, the engine will lurch like it is having a cylinder misfire. Its a similar feeling to when the auto start/stop turns on and off. Sometimes it will only do...
Hi everyone. It's been a long while since I've posted in the forums. My JL has had a history of cooling issues. I've had several parts replaced, such as the radiator, water pump, and thermostat all under warranty.
Currently, I'm at 56K+ with the extended Mopar warranty. I opted for this even...
I found a set of XR 35s and would like to put them on my 2 door 21 Rubicon 3.6 etorque auto which is completely stock. I donāt plan on lifting it at the moment.. The wheels for this set have a +12 offset compared to the stock rubicon +44 offset. Is there anything else I should immediately do to...
My rubicon does something like metal clicking at low speeds when I tap the gas with 8000mi on it. It also happens in reverse. It has the 3.6 etorque. not sure if people will hear it in the video!
Is anyone else sad to see the eTorque go?
Everyone complains about the added complexity. I'd argue the non-eTorque with ESS has similar complexity. They have an aux battery that connects to the starter. The eTorque just has a bigger battery connected to the 'alternator' that can now run...
I've been trying to learn something about maintaining the eTorque engines. I'm coming up dry.
How can I monitor the health of the 48-volt battery?
Any way to see the operating voltage or charge direction?
How do I replace the battery coolant? Do I have to pump out of the top, or is there a...
Ok, I found exactly one reference to the 3.6 Etorque and the grimm offroad arb twin compressor bracket that locates the compressor under the brake booster. I've been sitting on this setup and with an upcoming trip I decided I should probably install it. I've been worried it wouldn't clear...
Looking for suggestions on how to properly balance a chopped SUV trailer, my owners manual says the JLUR can only support 350lbs of tongue weight; that seems rather low considering total rated capacity is 3500 lbs. I've come across a few XJ builds with accompanying trailers, literally made from...
I recently filed a lemon law on a 2019 JLUR with the 2.0 E-Torque engine. I took delivery of a 2022 JLUR with the 2.0 engine sans E-Torque(E-Torque is only on the 3.6 now).
I wanted to share my thoughts on the E-Torque system, as the two cars are almost identical besides the drivetrain and...
Folks in high altitude states: are you happy with the 3.6? I'm specifically interested in the 3.6 eTorque with the automatic. I drove a 2.0Turbo briefly at the Denver auto show a few years ago, and thought it was a kick in town. However, I'm really a fan of the Pentastar 3.6 I've driven in some...
I know there have been a bunch of issues posted about the etorque engine. I have a 2019 unlimited with the 2.0 turbo etorque. I bought it used with about 10k miles on it and have put another 10k on. I bought it with the modifications made by the previous owner, who was really the second owner...
Hi guys,
Yesterday I had my first issue with my Jeep. Iām at 2700 miles, and Iām having an issue with starting my Jeep. It wonāt start on the first crank anymore. It willact like it is starting but wonāt turn over. Then after it wonāt start it then quits. I try to start it again and it starts...
I was going over some of the showcases and noticed one called a hybrid Rubicon. A 2018 with the 2.0.
Is the eTorque system really considered a hybrid system?
It's so easy to change oil in the standard (non-eTorque) 3.6L even I can do it. Now I have a 2021 JLUR 3.6L eTorque on order. I'm wondering if the oil change procedure is the same as non-eTorque. Is there any additional maintenance to perform for the eTorque?
Thanks!
For those who haven't seen it yet, in this video a Chrysler engineer explains what eTorque is, how it works, and what it does. I found it really helpful, so figured I would share.
This is in a Ram 1500, but it's basically the same system as in the Wrangler. Since Jeep doesn't really explain...
