Trying to decide on new front bumper. What do you have and do you like it?
Does it work with factory fog lights?
Is it able to mount other lights and if so what did you mount?

Thank you
I have the OEM steel bumper, but we removed the side caps. And installed the winch plate and bull bar. It’s an economical solution for functionality. I also think it looks better than about 90% of the aftermarket stuff (and 100% of the cheesy, cheap, light-weight, Chinese bumpers.)

My brother has the full GR aluminum system — bumpers, fenders, rub-rails, and tire carrier. (Yellow jeep on top) It’s very expensive, but crazy strong and super light. If GR made the bigger fenders for the JL I would probably consider it, but I need fenders where I live, the the GR stubbies don’t provide much coverage.

(I’ve gotten rid of the huge 1970s style A-pillar lights.)

There's something about the OEM bumper I really like. Probably because it was designed for the vehicle and looks good. The removable caps are another plus. If I had a gripe it would be the weight.

I now am even more tempted to add a cross bar to the top.

For people battling winter, salt conditions, I recommend Fluid Film or PB Blaster Surface Shield to prevent corrosion.
The downside of the steel parts is always rust.

Aesthetically or for other reasons too?
Yeah, mostly aesthetics, I’ve always had them this way, don’t really care for the recessed look, never did…..also easier to deal with any issues, easier to keep it clean, blah blah blah….just one of those old guy “Jeep things” I guess…lol.

First pic is of my previous Jeep - Quadratec aluminum bumper. Having had too many rusty Jeeps, I really like aluminum!
Fit and finish were perfect. I had bought an open box from QT. Install could not have been easier. Everything lined up, no drilling...
Second pic is of the factory bumper with a $120 bull bar. I would have preferred to buy something made in USA, but this was quick and easy..

I finally broke down and ordered one, thank you everyone for the inspiration. The problem is I really like the look of all of them, almost too many to choose from. I will post a picture once it is installed hopefully shipping does not take too long!

Same here, I like the old school look and easy access.

My current front bumper is the GenRight Ultra Clearance Front Bumper with Trail Stinger & Grill Guard (Aluminum). I am really happy with this bumper. It is an ultra-clearance Stubby type front bumper with a Low Winch Guard Bar and Grill Guard.

Mounted aftermarket lights are Baja Designs XL Pro and Squadron Pro (fog lights running off OEM fog light switch).

There are a bunch more pics of the bumper and lights at different angles on trails at this link https://revkit.com/troublemaker/

How’s this bumper holding up with trail abuse and recovery? I’m literally on the verge of buying this but I’m looking for non salesmen reviews lol…I’ve been to their Simi valley location and the rigs with these bumpers look nasty 😎….

AEV stubby. Factory LED fog, 20” bajadesign under the bumper, 7” AEV LED, front cam relocation kit and Warn winch
Mine is pretty much the exact same on my 24 JLUR except I have the corners. It's crazy how the AEV bumper w/winch doesn't even stick out as far as my factory POS bumper did. They're kind of a PITA to install but definitely worth it. And the BD 20 under and those AEV's up top, forget about it, they seriously light some shit up!!
