I lived in Southern California for 20 years: while it was nice having 75 degrees on Christmas, I do love the evergreens, the mountains and the snow.

Ooo nice, I was in Bellingham yesterday doing some Black Friday shopping.
I also frequent Mt. Baker few times a year for hiking and snowboarding trips. Absolutely beautiful there.

I see you're from Vancouver. I grew up there and moved to PG 12 or so years ago. The city itself is a bit of a hole, but the surrounding nature is UNBELIEVABLE. I do miss the Garibaldi and Cascade mountains, but I don't miss the city (at all). It's REALLY nice having a real winter (and not having to drive 2+ hours to see snow). I can't WAIT to get my Jeep out there this year!!

Yeah. Bellingham (pop. 89,000) is the perfect size for me.

Whenever I want to get stuck in traffic —which is not often, I have Vancouver one hour north, and Seattle one hour south...

I bet you don't have many friends up north. Mine don't really appreciate when I tell them we are having a cold snap here in Yuma. Barely into the mid 60s today. And I'm getting tired of shoveling all that sunshine.

its been in the mid 30s to 40s around me. i gotta move somewhere where it warm to work outside year around, because i'm hating the colder weather. also not looking to deal with the colder weather in jan / feb / mar. hopefully it wont be bitter cold like it was for the past few years.

Rained on and off the last 3 days here. It's cold which is fine but no Topless in Rain. By the way, Jeff I hope you fixed that old barn to park your Jeep under so that Bird I sent your way can't poop on your seat !!!!!
