Wondering what the engine temp is supposed to run in the 3.6, ours runs 212-219 flat driving on a cool day?

That’s a normal engine temp. So far mine hasn’t topped 200 yet which is low. I’m wondering if the gauge is wrong.

212-219 is almost overheating for my Dodge Ram. I just got my ram back from an overheating issue (bad heater core) and my truck runs between 195 and 202. regardless of temperature outside. Not too sure about the Jeeps

Slow speeds off-road I've seen 220, which then instantly cools down to 212 within a few seconds (without any engine fan). On-road I it says below 200.

Around 195 in my neck of the woods (los angeles) sometimes 210 but havent it seen it get 225+ besides when I went to vegas and hit the steep highway

Highest I have seen was 228+ Summer, hot out and high elevation climbing a pass.

Dropped quickly once we started going down hill.

My buddy following in his JK had identical temps.

Your temps are normal. I frequently see 212-215.

the cooling fan does not even come on till 220 on the hwy mine runs 195 197 going slow 10 mph it will get up to 220

Remove cap and stick a finger in the fluid. If finger comes out shes running cold. If finger is missing its running a tad hot

My 3.6 stays between 190 and 196.

Mine today was 205-215, outside temp here in Houston was in the 40’s, I thought that was kinda warm but believe the thermostat does not open until 225

Been kinda looking at my engine coolant temp and going down the road here in Houston it’s been 195-198 but in stop and go traffic heats up to 215-220 and stays around that temp in traffic but once I start rolling down the road with no traffic drops back to the 195-198 within a few minutes, I don’t believe it ran this warm before but then I’ve added 35’s and some up front weight with bumper and winch so it be be the added weight and staying in the lower gears that’s causing it to run alittle warmer

I do believe the normal range for the JL is 195-225 but correct me if I’m wrong

Figured I’d post up some numbers again. This is fully loaded for camping. 2 ppl. Doors. No top.

Today while leaving Sacramento it was around 98-100. Once I got to the hills my coolant went between 210-228. Hit 231 once on basslake grade. Oil 220-230.

Once I got up higher in elevation coolant stayed lower around 220 and oil actually stayed consistent at 230 but that was after miles of going up.

Once I pulled off the highway on ice house road (which is also long and steep but lower speed) coolant stayed around 215-223. Oil never went past 224.

Once flat temps always went down very quick.

When I'm in Phoenix, mine doesn't run that hot going 70 on the freeway. If I'm in traffic on a slower road, maybe, but it always goes down to the 190's. The oil temp will be high 190's to low 200's
