What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Unplugged driver door. I realized that with manual windows and locks, all the plug did was keep me from putting it in gear with the door open.

I get out to open gates, drive 20 feet through them at 1mph, and then get out to close them. Every day.

I’m aware of the extreme danger inherent in doing so with the door open, but I like to live way out on the ragged edge.

Another nanny dead. Hallelujah!

Details please... you unplugged the start stop function? I hate that too and want it off.

That's my concern also. I like being able to flip it up into safari mode if it looks like rain or if I just need a break from the sun. I'll try it without the door trim and report back.

I took the plastic door trim pieces off and it looks much better!

Please advise on if you can still put the top back up and let it rest without damaging paint, etc. I'd like to take the trim pieces off too, but like someone mentioned, I like being able to go into safari mode quickly.

I washed it, probably clean as it will ever be. Thank goodness the love bugs are done what a PITA. My Florida brothers know what I’m talking about, but for my other jl brother & sisters out there, they are a suicidal little bug that travels in pairs joined at the ass, that seek out your rig and fly into it... If you leave them on to long they’ll eat into your paint. They’re very acidic, nothing eats them, not lizards or spiders, nothing. We have the pleasure of their company twice a year...........

I ordered the module from https://www.smartstopstart.com It goes in line from the Jeep to the switch on your instrument panel. It basically just remembers the state you last left that button pressed (on/off) and keeps it that way fro every start up.

That is the question for me, too. I'm going to use the top in safari mode when it gets hot and will put the plastic bits back on if needed. I'll post an update.

FWIW. All you folks asking about running safari mode without the plastic stuff around the doors. On my 2dr I went a whole month with them removed and had to put the top up a couple times due to rain, no issues at all. She was nekkid for a month. It was awesome.
