Beautiful Weather today and I was driving with the windows down....it was beautiful until I sped up and the wind began causing both seat belts to quickly begin oscillating back and forth...they were striking the Pillars while oscillating; causing a loud buzzing noise. It was a disappointing.
Does anyone have a trick or suggestion to quiet these whipping seatbelt...or to secure them so they don't drive me crazy.

Of course I have already been told to "Roll up your windows".....and "Slow down." Apart from those suggestions which are not options, I am open to new suggestions. Please advise. Summer is coming and I want to enjoy the JL topless.

Pull each one all the way out to remove the slack until they start ratcheting, and then buckle them into their respective buckles. Pull tight to remove all the slack until they are taut. The ratchet mechanism will keep the tension on the belts to keep them from flapping. I do this when topless and/or doorless for freeway travel, works very well.

Small bungee (or Velcro wrap) around the belt to the pillar. Even a rubber band will do it. I also have just tilted the pax seat back and then captured the singing belt between the seat back and the pillar. I only have the two door so don't know if the back seat belts sing in a JLU. The front belts sure do.

Until I find a better solution, raising the window 1 inch stops most of the buzzing.

I hate seatbelts, so I use this. Problem solved. Just don’t crash...

I think you’ve completely missed the point of this thread. He’s talking about the wind buffering causing the seatbelts, the rear ones, to flap against the seats and possible the body plastic trim panels. It’s incredibly annoying. I have found the best fix to be turning music up louder.

Thanks to everyone for your advice.
Bearded Dragon's recommendation of the pads around the seatbelt along with RCH's Bungee is what I am going for in a solution.
Thank you. Great solutions to this issue.
After I get it done, Ill post a pic or two.

@iznthesky

I tried the strap thing around the belts and also tried a black sheep skin thingee ... but with either the belts did not want to retract properly... was a pain in the arse... That is when I oped to go with the felt pads. You do not see those and they do not hinder seat belt retraction.

Rhinebeck01 Thanks. I am going to try those also. I don't want to the flapping sound of the seatbelt to interfere with enjoying the open air that jeep offers when the top of off.
