Took my rig in to dealership today for a clunking noise. It’s only in 4wd, when in 2wd nothing. So while diagnosing, they took off diff cover and oil looked really dark and dirty, and more metal shavings than they deemed normal, so warranty dude said change out the whole axle assembly. It will be here in 3-5 days. Even though it sucks being down, I’m pretty impressed how Jeep stepped up.

I found a bunch of grease or thick oil around the lower bolts on the front diff cover on my JL 10K miles the other day. Checked torque, took two fill turns to get them to torque specs.

JLUS added 35 RDGs and 17x9 HE901 no lift. I wasn’t sure about putting 35s on my JL Sahara with no lift but it worked. No rubbing at all during normal daily driving. Will get lift soon for off roading.

Looks great, love the red seats! Do you have any pictures of the interior?

Removed my Trektop back windows today for the first time.

California weather is finally getting warm enough!

This says 40,000 which seems too long to wait.

Yeah, maybe I’ll go longer between first and second, but I’m changing my rear diff at 15000, after seeing the front one. I wheel a lot, every weekend, that’s the only time front is used thanks to the fad.

Good call - I'm assuming those numbers are based on regular on-road driving, which is of course dumb to publish for a Wrangler

UPDATE: My LED fog "flicker issue" is gone:

When the dealership searched for computer codes for my VIN they found a LED fog light/headlight option as well as LED "exterior lights". These "sales codes" were added/programmed to my PCM. I drove the Jeep around and they said they saw no flicker. I drove tonight and NO flicker.

I was charged 1 hour of labor...no parts are necessary.

So for those of you who do not want to install any aftermarket anti-flicker device and would like your Jeep dealership to fix the problem (have their PCM-related work covered by warranty), have them search for the LED lights and LED exterior light sales code option installed on your PCM. This specifically worked with my Sport Wrangler JLU, as long as your VIN has the LED option, this re-program will work!

:)
Do you happen to know the codes they used?

Added front grab handles and an OCD organizer to the center console in my JLUR and installed the Harken Jeep Hard Top Hoist to my Garage this past weekend. So far just baby steps for me. Up next is ordering the Roam Side Steps. I like how they look and function. I don’t like how long it takes to get them though.

Maybe want to change out diff oil a little early, this is a new axle for jl, so we’re in uncharted territory. :).

My front diff fluid was black less than 2000 miles, I only know because my front diff plug came loose coming off a boulder. A few thousand miles later it was fine when swapped the diff covers and fixed (or removed the first) thread.
