I just now noticed this by happenstance when I was cleaning out my trunk. The back tailgate hits the corner of the back window and has destroyed it. I have tried everything I can think of and it's how the back window sits when you snap it in. You can't shift it over anymore than where it's at. I'm pretty pissed off about this as the only way to avoid this had I known was to unsnap the bottom, close the gate, and then snap it back in. Can I take this to the dealer? This is clearly a design flaw at this point.

Here's some photos:

That sux. What is the gap like on the right side? Can it be shifted more to the left?

I hope it all works out.

Warranty repair. Tailgate should not be in contact with the top.

Funny part is, I went to the Jeep Dealer I bought mine from just out of curiosity. 4 out of 5 soft tops I looked at had the same exact issue sitting on the lot.

The only ones that didn't were the premium tops. Almost all the regular vinyl tops hit with the window the tail gate. Some even had signs of wear already.

I see that happening on mine too. It’s not to the point yours is though but it’s obvious that it will be eventually. Please come back with an update if they give you a new window under warranty or not. I was planning on addressing it at my first oil change at the dealer. Not encouraging to hear all those on the lot with the same issue. I don’t have a premium top either. Thanks.

It’s happening/will happen to mine also.

I’ve tried pulling it left as much as possible but that’s where it wants to sit..

Nothing you can do really other than get a new one from the dealer every time it gets like that..

The issue does need to be raised as clearly it’s a widespread issue and manufacturing defect of the back panel. Just bad lots because the manufacturer doesn’t know likely..

I may attempt to take mine to a seamstress to have it sown back a bit. That’s all it’ll take to work perfectly.

You know I just saw this today as I was closing my tailgate. Mine isn’t not really torn at all. Maybe because the little flap never stays clipped under the lip on the body.
