My 18 JLUR has the 8.4 Uconnect option. Besides it “losing” my iPhone X which I connect via USB for audible and then reconnecting at random moments, I am now hearing sound from the front right speaker that sounds like electronic interference that increases in volume perfectly in tandem with the engine revving. This happens whether the stereo head unit is turned on or not and it can be heard while playing music or other audio over the system. Is there a simple wiring harness connector I can check? I do have a pedal commander installed but can’t see why that would cause anything like this. Appreciate any input that might help me avoid the hassle of a Dealer visit and being without my Jeep.

That’s the speed volume adjustment working. Just go to settings and turn it to 0.

I checked and it is definitely not that. It is some kind of a grounding issue possibly in the head unit. I wish I just knew a simple visual check or what wiring to make sure is plugged in fully, but I'm going to have to waste time taking this thing to the dealership on a weekday to get a diagnostic performed and then find out how long I'll be without my Jeep. Not happy.

I've actually heard this 2 times in the year I've had my Jeep. Its weird and sounds like I have a microphone in the engine bay.

Alternator whine. Check grounds
Sounds like it's something with the audio system. Almost like a glitch with a sounds deafening system like some vehicles have that blast white noise through the speakers to kill road noise, but in this way, increases it.

That is 100% what it sounds like. The more I hear it the more I think I hear other noises from the engine bay or outside.

Yeah it's engine whine, in your electrical. Probably some ground wire is screwed up for your stereo. Not sure how to troubleshoot that as it could be anywhere. Better take it back to the dealer..

I wonder if it's abad ground, alternator noise, or defective Active Noise Canceling?

So, after reading the entire thread (https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/audio-cutting-in-and-out.16942/) about Uconnect cutting out for people (which also affects me), I decided to see if any of the remedies people are trying for that might also help me. No joy.

Here's video of my testing after pulling F97 and F11 fuses:

And demonstration that the problem doesn't happen when the engine is off and just running on ACC:

I'm really not thrilled about the inconvenience of having to take this to the dealer on a Monday-Friday (my work hours) because they can't do a diagnostic on Saturdays. But that's where I'm headed after this month. I can't do it in January at all.

Is yours constant? Mine went away by next start up.

I found the problem. You won’t believe this: passenger side all weather floormat drain plug has gone missing and the wind coming in from the drain hole was making the ANC technology that comes with the Alpine system try to work overtime to compensate. Plug the hole and the issue is gone! :cwl:
