lol, yes I don't have the setup to go up the crazy things lite brite does...
We did Peters Mill Run back in October. There had been a lot of rain so it was pretty wet, but a straightforward trail. We ran North to South (picked up the $5 permit in Woodstock), then took 758 Woodstock Tower Rd. to the trail. We did the short hike to the tower, pretty cool view, then moved on down the road to the trail. We didn’t go in at the trail head; just prior to it there is an OHV parking sign with a nice gravel area if you’d like to air down. From that parking area, you can get to the trail (actually a neat little section) that meets up with the trail just past the trail head, you’ll then turn right to proceed.

Overall, a fairly easy trail though there are several areas just off the trail that could be explored. There are several other trails in the area (https://www.trailsoffroad.com/states/VA).

We did Flag Pole Rd. from SR 924 as well. Again, not a difficult trail, though crazy wet/muddy when we went. Plus there was a motorcycle rally that day, which made it interesting. You can connect from Flag Pole to Dunkle Hollow Road (two routes, one goes on North to HWY 33 the other goes to Union Springs – the latter route in not on the website above).

Note…if you do Flag Pool from South to North and want to get up to the “Flag Pole” area at the top…the first entrance is a little crazy! We clawed and bounced are way up making sure to grab some witness marks on a few skid plates…a little adrenaline rush as we looked over to the drop off as we climbed…then we realized there were like three other easy entrance/exits…go figure. Fortunately the Jeep has way more ability then we do!

Based on what you guys have done...these would be cake walks. I hear Big Levels or Potts Mountain look more challenging. We were not confident enough to give it a go on either of those...well, I wasn't, my wife...yeah, she'd probably just bang through :)

I am thinking about going here...https://www.google.com/maps/place/3...!1s0x0:0x0!7e2!8m2!3d35.8823815!4d-78.8362474

Is it "Legal" to take the JL here?
Not really. You'd be trespassing. That land is owned by the Wellons family. It's jointly owned by their private foundation and their for-profit corporation. Wellons is an energy company and the family owns several large parcels of land throughout North Carolina. Not really many places left near Raleigh. Mostly everything is built out. Have to go to the coast or the mountains to have real fun.

I spent the weekend running up to Rausch Creek Off-Road Park and back for Thanksgiving.

The goal was to get 3 more badges. We stopped in Virginia and ran Peter's Mill Run and a couple extra credit trails through the mountains there. Once that was done, we headed up to Harrisburg, PA. The next morning we headed to the Park. It was really quite perfect and such a cool, unique environment to wheel in. Freezing rain, Fog, 25 degrees... it was awesome! Got the badges I was after, as well. Peter's Mille Run, Trail #11, and Crawlers Ridge.

All was going well until I experienced a steering lock up issue at highway speeds. You can check the thread out here if you're curious: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/steering-locked-up-at-70mph.18906/

Enjoy the pics and thanks for sharing all of yours. I love checking out other wheeling adventures.

Do any of you guys want these things...?

Set of sleeves for the JK Rubicon front axle and the full trailer harness for a JK.

Free to the first person to show up. Tonight would be good if you're bored. Otherwise, it'll have to wait until Sunday.

Oh, if it isn't Mark with the perfect teeth. Keep forgetting to ask him how much they cost. :)

So I was at Kernersville Dodge just now, dropping off one of my coworkers so he can get the 5500 back to the office from the service department. I went to go check out of the JL MOABs they have there and Lo and Behold @chevymitchell pulls up and tells me I want to buy one.

Good to finally meet someone from here in person. :like:

Haha. Funny way to meet someone from here. It was good to meet you, as well. We'll have to get burgers and beer going at my place one of these nights. It's a good garage to hang out in even when it's cold outside.
