A short video of the new place I found. Sooooo many trails I could have taken but this was a fun one due to the creek crossing!

And here I thought I was weird for calling mine a mini truck whenever the seat is out. Nice to know I'm not alone.
I actually wish I could buy one of those heavy duty plastic bed liners, I got the weathertek its not bad but does not go up sides

I'm a cheap b*stard and use the left-over rear mat from when I had a JKU. You are right tho, at times it would be really handy to have some side protection for "truckin".

Found a fun place for some 4-wheelin' near me! So if any of you Florida owners want the coordinates, just holler at me!

Your photo a beauty, as always! One of this days I’ll take you up on it, TJ! Lately I have either worked weekends (like now), or had errands to run out of town. But I will head that way at some point!

LOD says their Destroyer steps will be available "this winter" so I'm holding out for those
Just looked at their site, they’re really nice! I am also thinking of ACE, so I can keep the factory ones as well, but might just go with a wider version like LOD. I’m only 5”4”, so a sturdy step helps to jump in. Thanks!

I have the ACE, but got them mostly as deflectors for road crap.

That is more the type of wheeling I really like. We have more of the rock crawling here in Texas, I enjoy it just not as much fun for me and more chance to doing damage to the Jeep.

I think 4 doors sell more because of people with families or the need for more cargo space. I can't see a more cumbersome, less agile vehicle being preferred for off road. I think the 4 door Jeeps look like an SUV or a stretch Jeep and would never have one. Here is a little info comparing thee 4 door and 2 door.

https://www.extremeterrain.com/two-door-vs-four-door-jeeps.html
I intend to do more overland style wheeling but still prefer the 2 door maneuverability and form if I'm honest.

Highway driving, steep inclines, and cargo room take a hit, but it's worth it to me.
I have felt the same way, but more recently have considered the ideal of getting a 4 door. Of course not at the cost of my 2 door, no way I give that up. We keep 2 four door vehicles because of family stuff. If my wife wants to take my Q5 I may look at trading her Highlander for a 4 door Jeep. Main reason for this is my daughter and I take some long road trips (last summer was 2 1/2 weeks about 5500 miles up to Maine). A 2 door soft top is not ideal for these trips, but if I had a 4 door hard top I could use that for the road trip and look at hitting some trails along our travels.

I was just going off of what I've read, 4 doors outsell the 2 door by 4 to 1, or possibly even more. I have no idea how it breaks down across trim levels. There are also a lot of serious off roaders who prefer the longer wheelbase (and stability) of the 4 door.

Some people are assuming that Jeep is pushing the 2.0 in the 2.0 door Rubicon Auto for fleet fuel efficiency standards. Like it or not, real world or not, the 2.0 has better milage ratings than the 3.6. I have no idea what logic Jeep is using, but I do not think the omission of a 3.6/Auto/Rubi/2 door is a bug in the online builder.

For what its worth, I am picking up my order (3.6/Auto/Rubicon/2 doors) on Monday. I am not a serious off roader (subject to change).
Go the way I did, 4 dr Sahara and 2 dr Rubicon. Use the one I need for the situation.
