An impromptu Saturday afternoon cruise with my wife turned up an old iron wood bottomed bridge I never knew existed. It was quite literally out in the middle of nowhere, and I wasn't sure at first if it was even sturdy enough to traverse. It amazes me that as long as I've lived in this area, there are still pleasant surprises such as this when we are out exploring the countryside.

My house is north facing, so I hear that. Still, where are some decent 33"/35" tire chains? I'm going to get into the hills in the snow.

I've never used chains. always seemed like a big pain putting them on and taking them off.

Only for the trail, but I'll tell ya they are night and day different when you are up in the deep stuff. I've yet to need them on any streets.

We are at 4500 feet and west facing so what little snow we get melts off fairly fast. I hear we currently have a dusting in the hills around 7000-8000 feet. In Golden you probably get the deep stuff. We are heading to St. George, UT today. More sun and low to mid seventies. Enjoy it while we can.

I’m just back from pulling our 21.5’ ski boat home for the winter. Boat, trailer, fuel, plus stuff on board easily makes it over 2000lbs, so no way I’d try towing it with the Jeep. However, I did decide to use the Jeep to back it down our steep, long driveway and it was awesome!! That short wheelbase made maneuvering an absolute piece of cake. Visibility was also way better than in my Yukon XL. What is usually a stressful 15 minutes of swearing and yelling, “how’s it looking?!”to my sons was 5 minutes of, “I’ve got it. I can see fine.” Sweet.
