It’s so funny that Alex mentioned a name! I was just thinking this morning that we should do a name roundup! We all know Vida....:involve:

Well, my plate says McBeeve so consequently my wife started calling it that and it's just kinda stuck.

Embarrassing yet hilarious moment for me tonight... I parallel-parked for the first time since getting my JL* and it took me, like, 10 attempts to get it exactly right!!

To be fair it was a moderately tight spot, but the two things that threw me off were the rear camera beeping way earlier than my previous Jeep (it made me think I was 10 inches from another car when I was still 4 feet away!), and the Rubi tires being so cushy that I almost didn’t feel anything when I had half a tire on the curve (joking, but not by much).

Anyway - a bit more practice and it should feel second nature, but this was just the 1,000th reminder that I’m soooo glad I got a 2-door rather than a 4-door.

* I think I finally landed on a name... Will run it by y’all tomorrow or this weekend to make it official!
Drumroll!!!!....

For what it’s worth: I recently tried Salomon hiking shoes, and now I’m hooked. Obviously what works for one person may be terrible for another, but those feel so comfortable to my feet and gave me such good traction that I even got a second pair (X Ultra 3 GTX and Quest 4D 3 GTX).

Too bad you can’t teleport Nalah to Oregon, her Ocean Blue would look spectacular with the Pacific in the background!
Wouldn’t it... I actually checked if I can go by train and put her on it too. Unfortunately they don’t do it cross country. There are a few short routes in Florida and DC where you can put your jeep/car on too.

My favorites are keen targhee 2 been wearing them for years.
I loved my Keens, but they probably were a bit small. Changed to Oboz, which I love. By the end of 28 km in Iceland my soles were beat! I do have some artificial stuff in my feet joints so they do need pampering. I love my Hoka one one running shoes, they look like boats, feel like clouds! So I figure their hiking boots will be the same.
If I can’t hike, might as well go to nursing home, the way I see it.

I used to go out to Silverton, awesome area. I rented a Jeep from the airport in Ignacio and drove a lot of the trails. Post some pics. Any plans of hiking up Engineer Mountain from Coal Bank Pass? Have a good time
The group of hikers I go with will be going to finish Windom Peak. We weren't able to get it for Tad last year, so we go again this year. This will be his finisher. 58 14ers.

Unfortunately the awesome Narrow Gauge Railroad train is not running to Needleton this year, so we will be taking the long way round to Chicago Basin from Purgatory Flats.

I don't generally name my vehicles, but I actually decided to get some stickers to replace the ones I took off the hood. When they get here I'll share.

Should have thought about "Krondor" but that wasn't it. :ninja:

I need some artificial stuff in my knees, but I'm not ready to get that done at 47 . waiting as long as I can.

I'm happy for the people of N.C that Florence down graded to a 1 before it hit , but nothing is funnier then these talking heads on TV desperately trying to hype it up anyway.

I find it so odd that all the hype I’ve heard for days now is the worst of it was going to be between Cape Fear & Cape Lookout. Ironic much?!
