One of the main reasons I opted for a Wrangler over a much more sensible "city car".:rock:
Yep, me too! Not only for handling the snow & ice, but for the amazing heat! My brother bought a JK last year and at -25C temps, it had heat pumping out within a few minutes. We've had a few chilly mornings this week and I tried out the heated steering wheel - soooo nice! :involve:

I’ve got all sorts of Jeeple excitement brewing!! As if the first adventure planned in two weeks isn’t enough, I just logged on to silly old Facebook to join a local Jeep group in my area! Someone in there even has a mojito JL unicorn! Yaaaaay for more Jeeps & Jeeples & adventures!!! :like::jk::clap:

I'm headed to Durango on the 23rd, but the Jeep will be parked and I'll be hiking for 3-4 days.
WE LOVE HIKING!!! My feet are sooo bad, however. I just go got a pair of HOKA hiking boots and can’t wait to try them! Will go to Portland Oregon in October and hope to do some hiking with son and grandson, try them out. Nalah will stay home this time however...

Embarrassing yet hilarious moment for me tonight... I parallel-parked for the first time since getting my JL* and it took me, like, 10 attempts to get it exactly right!!

To be fair it was a moderately tight spot, but the two things that threw me off were the rear camera beeping way earlier than my previous Jeep (it made me think I was 10 inches from another car when I was still 4 feet away!), and the Rubi tires being so cushy that I almost didn’t feel anything when I had half a tire on the curve (joking, but not by much).

Anyway - a bit more practice and it should feel second nature, but this was just the 1,000th reminder that I’m soooo glad I got a 2-door rather than a 4-door.

* I think I finally landed on a name... Will run it by y’all tomorrow or this weekend to make it official!

For what it’s worth: I recently tried Salomon hiking shoes, and now I’m hooked. Obviously what works for one person may be terrible for another, but those feel so comfortable to my feet and gave me such good traction that I even got a second pair (X Ultra 3 GTX and Quest 4D 3 GTX).

Too bad you can’t teleport Nalah to Oregon, her Ocean Blue would look spectacular with the Pacific in the background!

Don't try your new boots for the first time on your trip. Remember to wear in or break in your new boots prior to your trip. Wear the boots with the socks you will wear a couple of hours a day way before your trip. Have fun!

A 2-door JL is a exceptional off road machine and a superb urban city vehicle. It's short for tight city spaces. Has great turning radius. Tall with big bumpers so the cars in front and back won't do much damage to your bumpers. Big tires so your wheels won't get curb rash. Great suspension travel for all the pot holes. You don't have to worry about digging out from deep snow. You sit high so you can see ahead in traffic. It's a great urban warrior!

Couldn’t agree more. Too many people either don’t know this or don’t believe it, but it can save you a lot of band-aids!

If I wasn’t already sold, I would be now! ;)
Great points all around.

I used to go out to Silverton, awesome area. I rented a Jeep from the airport in Ignacio and drove a lot of the trails. Post some pics. Any plans of hiking up Engineer Mountain from Coal Bank Pass? Have a good time
