Haha where at?
The now available Granite Sahara is in the Boston area. Or were you asking just to look for news clippings of my imminent demise at the hands of my wife should it not sell?

I think you can get the black top if you order the optional dual tops.
That is a negative. I ordered on Monday, and verified that the dual top leaves the body color hard top. My dealer was not sure so he contacted their Chrysler. I believe this is because the headliner (which is included on the Moab) only works on the body color top.

However you could at least have a black soft top for summer driving, as the dual top option adds around $1k.

Betcha my Sahara has been off road more than most Rubi's, I bet 85% of Rubicon's sold don't even get dirty! ( Ya I know, probably at least 90% of Sahara's don't either!) If you are really an avid Off Roader, especially in rocky areas fine, otherwise top if the line is Sahara! My son in law just bought a Sahara like Rubicon except for Hood and bumpers same as my loaded Sahara but 8K more?? It'll never be off road, well except to tow his jet ski onto our sandy beach...ah he stuck it in the sand already! Not the Rubi's fault at all!! lol Never even locked an axle or aired down!

Kind of embarrassing getting a tow from a same color Sahara! 15lbs of air really does the job in sand...betcha next time!

I too think basing it on the Rubicon would have fit better with that Moab name? Love the metal bumpers, not crazy about the hood, kinda busy looking over it?

Rubi guy's son in laws Rubi can lock both axles or just rear, news to me? Can you lock rear in Hi four, not just low range?? I didn't try, would sure be nice

Love em all! Go Jeep!!!

Has anyone that ordered a Moab received any notifications about timing? I’m in D1 status

How long ago did you place your order?

Order placed 8/27, VIN issued 8/29. I’m by no means concerned yet, just curious.

The thing I don’t understand is that multiple dealers told me the Moab edition order banks were set to close at 6pm EDT on 8/27 so I was sure to get my order in before then. And then Jeep made the first public announcement on 8/28 - which seems curious if it wasn’t actually available to order on that date.

Whatever happens, looks like owning a 2018 Moab is going to make it fairly rare with such a limited order window. But I suspect it will be basically identical for 2019.

I guess I am too late to the party. I wanted to order one. But both of the dealers I contacted a week ago knew nothing about it or how to order it. Now I read the order window is closed on the date it was officially launched. What kind of business operation are they running?

I’m in the same boat here. Read the press release end of last week. Went to dealer this weekend and they couldn't put an order in. I don't get it.

I asked my local dealer Monday and they didn’t offer to try to order one. Seemed like they weren’t aware of the MOAB

I spoke to a friend in Toledo. Apparently the Moab had been intended to be a 2019 introduction. They had allowed dealers to place orders for a 2018 Moab in order to get them on the lots this autumn. However that info leaked to this forum (and others) and a few of us ordered them.

However the plan is still to continue the Moab for 2019. My buddy is under the impression that the 2019 Order Bank is still scheduled to open next week, so go in once that happens. Tell your dealer you are looking for a Sahara with quick order package 24M.

Will do! What color are you planning to order? I went with white and tan interior. All colors will be offered again in 2019 except mohito (neon green)
