What dash cam are you installing and where are you putting it? I have a Garmin Live on order and I was going to use a OBD/USB adapter to run the camera 24/7. I was going to put it low on the driver side. Small windshield.Thank you. The USB adapter for a dashcam is 2A, so that should be good.
You may want to consider using aux 3 or 4 so the camera will stay on when it is NOT parked in your garage. The only issue is you have to remember to turn it on but that way you will be recording any incident that happens in a parking lot or at a repair or service shop. This is what I'll use, you can set on a timer.I am using a vantrue N2. I plan on tying it in to the "ignition on" aux wiring. I don't use always on because the Jeep is usually parked in my garage. Makes me wonder if I need a fuse though. The 12v to USB adapter is rated for 2 amps. I usually mount the dashcam's upper right, under the passenger's sun visor.
