Jeep Wave Rental

Has anyone gotten a rental through Jeep Wave? I'm sitting here waiting for my oil change and tire rotation and the service manager said they don't give out rentals for routine maintenance.

Service manager also seemed surprised that I wanted 5 tires rotated, instead of just 4.

An oil change is too quick for a rental to be worth it, and yes a 5 tire rotation is unusual.

It's usual for a wrangler, why would they be shocked by that? As for the rental/loaner vehicle, that sounds accurate. Not for scheduled maintenance.

yes just because it can make sence doesn't mean its not unusual (or uncommon)

I think you are confused. The O.P. wants a rental while the do the oil change and tire rotation. Or you were being sarcastic.

It's completely normal to do 5 tire rotations with matching spares. Anyone that says otherwise is just ignorant. NOBODY on a Wrangler forum should be against 5 tire rotations.

i received a rental (Chrysler Pacifica Van) for oil change, 5 tire rotation and some warranty/recall work... they were able to complete everything within 5 hours.

5 tire rotations suck on JL because 1) it requires the spare to be removed before the tech lifts the vehicle in the air 2) it requires the tech to locate the lug key to remove the security lug that is apparently now standard equipment and 3) the backup camera has to be partially disassembled.

In short, it adds time to the job, and time is money. I don't blame them for not really wanting to do it.

That's why I do mine myself. A $50 floor jack and tire iron and you can rotate your own tires in 15 minutes at home with no wait at a dealership.

Thanks for the clarification. I misunderstood the policies around the rental.

As for tire rotations, I normally do my own maintenance work for all my vehicles. With this JL, Jeep already nickle and dimed me. If they're gonna do them for free, I'm going to take advantage of that as long as I can.

Jeep Wave specifically states that a rental/loaner vehicle is available for routine maintenance. So, yes an oil change / tire rotation should have a free rental/laoner vehicle. If the dealer refuses, ensure they know about Jeep Wave and if they still refuse, inform Jeep that the dealer refused your Jeep Wave benefit.
