LOL love it...3:52...that's where we need those Rubicon KO2's...as he rolls up and over. haha. You think so huh, LMAO. And yet we have another Sahara and look street tires no less.
Get over yourself. The Sahara isn’t a minivan any more than the Rubicon is a monster truck. There are differences specific to the application and that’s about it. Frankly, a true off-roader wouldn’t be driving an out-of-the-box crawler anyway. As already stated, I remain perplexed at why FCA would use the Sahara, not Rubicon platform to create a rig whose namesake reads Moab.
Are we to expect a similar tricked out monster truck build of a Rubicon by FCA in our future whose hood reads: "Soccer Parent/Errand/Mall Puddle Crusher?"
And if so, what will be some of its features:
* Heavy duty rock rails to prevent dents from other vehicles in adjacent parking spaces?
* Elderly stair chair technology to get 5' soccer mom up to its nose bleed height cabin?
* Fog horn sounding notes of Streisand's "Evergreen" to find (not that it's hard to miss) the rig in the post mega concert parking lot?
* Automatic opening and closing doors?
etc.![]()
I'm willing to bet that if it were researched thoroughly, it would be found that most of the haters of the new Moab special edition have been to the mall many, many times, but very, very few have been to Moab. :cwl:I must be slow today because I’m just not following your logic. Why would you not use the Sahara platform for the Moab? Why would you take a Rubicon and remove the name of the place/trail it is named for it and put a name on it of another place/trail on it? Why would you drop the Rubicon name when it’s the baddest one around? Why not drop the Sahara name, beef it up and call it a Moab? We all know if we are honest about it a Moab with Sahara underpinnings is perfectly capable of doing Moab, hell even a Kia can do it! LMAO

Hey! I hate the new Moab! Sure, it's only because I hate painted fenders and roof. That's a deal breaker, otherwise I'd really want one. But still... I hate that thing!I'm willing to bet that if it were researched thoroughly, it would be found that most of the haters of the new Moab special edition have been to the mall many, many times, but very, very few have been to Moab. :cwl:![]()

The Moab Edition should Have lockers. True the Sahara has been around awhile that’s why the Rubicon is an Upgrade for off roading and is very capable “out of the box”. Not sure what you mean by a True off roader but I’ve had 2 and they have taken me anywhere I’ve Wanted to go.Get over yourself. So just take a step down from the belief that the Rubicon is the only possible option for “true jeepers”. The Sahara was around 20 years before the rubicon, so the arguement isn’t a valid one.
You proved my point. Very sure that isn’t stock. The Moab Edition should Have lockers. It’s better to start with harder to add things like the Lockers that come Stock on a Rubicon. I do have a 3.5 lift and 37’s but it was very capable before just needed ground clearance. I’ve ownd many Jeeps. True the Rubicon isn’t the end all be all but it’s a good start. I. My opinion o Moab edition should have started with that. Just like The Recon Did in 17-18. Basically A HardRock with better Armor. I’m no Expert by any means but I traded a Lifted HardRock for the Rubicon JL I have now and the new one is better in a lot of ways. You proved my point. Very sure that isn’t stock.
So when people spout about how “only the rubicon can off road”, they seem simple and uninformed. Every model can tackle the obstacles and the more you do, the less chance you remain stock anyway- no matter what the model.
Sure, I can see your point. Absolutely makes sense. I was making more of a note to the several prior that made the other models (Sahara and Sport) sound like Chevy Aveos. It’s the same darn vehicle, just modified differently. And if you really want to make off-roading your hobby- you’ll modify those modifications anyway. It’s better to start with harder to add things like the Lockers that come Stock on a Rubicon. Then there's people like me that don't need yet another rock-crawler, but prefer something in between a stock Sahara and a Rubicon, with full-time 4WD capability plus a few extra goodies thrown in at a lower cost than you'd pay with the Sahara's a-la-carte options menu. It’s better to start with harder to add things like the Lockers that come Stock on a Rubicon. These are pics of me taking a Sport out to the canyons. Proof that the model is not the maker of a good off-roader- especially in jeep world.
