I know some really hate SiriusXM but I like it...mine has been expired for a few weeks and getting ready to take a roadtrip tomorrow for 10 days or so I decided I would call...I asked for their best rate and they came right back with "we have a special for your jeep" one year $47.88 which includes the fees and it will automatically cancel at the end of the subscription so I don't have to worry about forgetting to cancel it. $3.99 a month is worth it to me. your choice you can pay by the month or the full year.

We love S/XM and have it in both Jeeps. When we had a motor home it also had S/XM. It's all we listen to when in the vehicles unless we're venturing into the city. On those occasions we listen to an all-news AM statiom for traffic reports. We're paying ~$50 p/y for each S/XM subscription.

Great deal, I'm paying 6.99/mo after my annual "I'm gonna cancel call"

I'm no fan of the service, but even I'd be tempted to accept the $4/month offer. I wouldn't trust the promise of auto-cancellation, though, and would be proactive if I wanted to cut ties after 1 year.
I have always did the auto cancel and never once in the last 15 years or so have they not cancelled on time.

Fair enough. That wasn't our experience with Sirius during the one instance when we maintained a voluntary, paid subscription. The constant upsells and intentional feet-dragging when we repeated our cancellation request really left a sour taste. Thus my reduced opinion of the company, no matter the latest promotional deals.

Maybe they've cleaned up their act a bit.

I tell them that I do not want it to auto re-new and want to have it cancel a few days short of a year and they have always cancelled short of the year. Not sure when the last time you subscribed but I have been doing it that way for a long time and never once have they not cancelled..Never had to call them...after it cancels I wait a week or two and call and it starts all over...until the next year.

Last time i called it was a AI voice asking me what I was calling about and I said i wanted to lower my monthly bill.
The AI asked if $7 dollars a month was a good offer and I said yes.
Never spoke to a real person and it was a one minute phone call.
No haggling and threating to cancel involved.

My $5 sub ended a couple days ago. Letter said it will auto charge and continue monthly at $20. Just call up speak to AI and keep saying too expensive and cancel. It will continue to lower price.

For kicks I held on for human and it was same deal as AI so I was on hold for nothing. I just get one subscription and use the app when in wife’s car (she prefers pandora) or when I wanna hear music in the house or at work.

The somewhat recent addition of DJs across many music channels has reduced the value of SiriusXM to me considerably. A lot of the blah-blah-blah content is either off-color or inane, IMHO. Seems like the addition of such “content” is perhaps meant to stop smaller restaurants from using a $4 SiriusXM subscription in lieu of a $400 ASCAP license. Indeed, I often wonder if there’s a hidden serial number sidebanded within the chatter (i.e., at an inaudible frequency) that could easily be scanned from the right app by a secret shopper. I doubt there’s anybody in a car who prefers generic national chatter in lieu of music.

So, yeah, I’m paying $4/mo for one of my two Jeeps. it’s just not worth more money anymore. At least not to me.

Also, the bitrate is poor. So I’ll go a year at a time without renewing. I legit cancel, not just sorta cancel.

Bought a lifetime subscription for $249 dollars back in 2003ish and never looked back. It’s been in 5 different vehicles and I have it for free for life on my phone. So whatever I’m driving I can just use CarPlay to listen. Great investment for me.

I too am paying $3.99 per month each for all three of my vehicles. It was not a hassle to receive that price. I first signed up with Sirius with my then new 2012 Jeep Rubi. This is the lowest price ever.

Buying the receiver should be enough. I’d go with a nominal subscription price if there were no adds.

Also, I’ve found that all the music stations are on a continuous loop. And on the music channels, the weekend yapping and crappy live concert segments are difficult to listen to.

Same here. It expires after a year.

$3.99 is a great price, but make sure that's the total. They tend to "forget" to mention taxes and fees when they give those price quotes.
