I'm sure to regret this but why buy a 4xe if you're never going to use that system? You have a much heavier, therefore less fuel efficient, version of the Wrangler, which flies in the face of your statement that you don't want to push down your MPG. And you want to install 37s which absolutely will drive down MPG while denying yourself addtional 200+ ft-lbs of torque to turn the 37s. This is the logic I associate with the Federal Government.
I get it, and what I mean by dropping mpgs is from what I hear 37 and 3.73 get people 18s around town and thruway. I was just stating that I hope I wont be the only Wrangler that for some reason ends up getting 10mpgs. I'm fine with going from 21-23 I get now, down to 18s. Drove an LJ with 5.13s, Supercharged for a year and got 12mpgs which was fine for me. I also don't think I will be robbing myself of that much torque (200+) before regearing. Seems also like a lot of 3.6 3.73 gearing guys done in back in 2022-2023 which is crazy for 3.6, that is something I wouldn't do. But, that is why I'm on the fence here thinking and asking around. I wil regear because even if I stayed on 35s, or 33s, or 31s, if I add any gear like bumper, winch, rack, etc.. I'll still will need to regear to push all that weight around.

Yeah, 6th is useless until you’re up in the 75+ range stock.. imagine how bad 3.45s would be
I'm running 35's and 3.45's with a manual JL and am saving up for 4.88's. In 6th at 80 I'm running at 2k

Yep.. at 2K RPM in 6th, any uphill and you're back to 5th.

Make sure you use Dana-Spicer gears. If you can't get 4.88s, consider 4.56s too. 6th gear with 5.13s is the same as 4.56s in 5th.

Lol most hills require me to drop to 4th. Can't use 6th unless I'm going down hill.

Yep! I was in your boat with 3.73s and 37s until I regeared. Tons more relaxing being able to put it in overdrive and set the cruise for most of a highway drive.

you could also look at some 35's that run bigger...my Mickey Thompson 35's run on the larger size of many 35's as do Toyo MT's. Nitto mud grapplers in 35's look as big as some 37's.....same with some interco Irok 35's.
This is just not correct

So you ran 37’s with 3.73 gears with a manual trans? Did you wheel it?

What do you mean?
Sure an MT is always gonna measure a little more than an AT. But to say mickey or Nitto or Toyos measure bigger isn’t accurate. I’ve measured 35” mickey Thompson baja boss AT and they were “33.5 mounted. My 315 XR ko2s measured 34” on my jeep. A set of 37”12.517 geolander MT g003 I had on a gladiator measured barely over 35” mounted . Among others. Some tires look bigger cuz they are more square shouldered .

I did, during covid.. It took a couple months to get my 5.13s in. Then I had the rear set REM polished.
So there were about 4 months after the lift and 37's went on and I had it regeared.

In 4low it wasn't terrible, but stalling was a real thing getting on top of big rocks or ledges.

I'm running 35s on 3.45 gears. I dont know how to do the math but I'm guessing it'll be similar to 3.73 and 37s. It's honestly not terrible, and I've been living with it for over a year now. I do plan to go to 4.88 at some point though. In 4Lo you dont notice it as much, but I'm on a manual and do stall out sometimes, you've seen me LOL. But I still suck at wheeling being so new and hope to get better pedal control as time goes by.

Pretty similar. Treat it like a 4speed.
If you do go to 4.88s, be prepared. 1st is SHORT.

⬆ This. When I'm at a stop light I'm always on look out for someone (especially in EV) behind me that's not paying attention and could rear end me as I shift from 1st to 2nd. Its almost happened numerous times. I have my shift pattern tattooed on the rear glass but don't really expect anyone to know what it means. 4.88's + 315 KO2's.
FWIW, he felt like a jack rabbit again after going from droopy 3.45's to spry 4.88's... and I agree... I've never heard anyone say, "I'm sorry I re-geared" when moving to larger tires.

Absolutely a thing!

I often wonder how hard it would be to put something like the getrag 7spd in one of these.. a REAL crawler gear and first gear in the low 4's (vs 5.13 in ours) top gear is a really tall OD at .65:1 vs ours at 72:1.

It's cable shifted too, so a clutch that's compatible and an adapter to bolt it on and a few hundred tries to make the hydraulics work and presto.
