Not even at 35,000 miles (but over 36 months), and my oem led taillight died. Any suggestions on replacements?

For the price of just the driver’s side light, I could get a pair of aftermarket, I was looking at Morimotos, I’d like something I don’t have to worry about failing again, any other suggestions?

Also considering switching to halogen, that way if it goes out again it’s a bulb and not another full unit, so far led lighting on cars seems to be a mistake in my opinion, they don’t seem to actually last any longer and are far more expensive to repair and replace, but if I go halogen I lose my blind spot monitoring too.

I had the Oracle lights and loved them. However, one died within a year, and it was replaced under warranty. Then, outside the warranty period, the other one died at about two years. At that point, I was kinda fed up. A $400 product should last longer. So, I switched to Morimoto. They have a five-year warranty, so that did it for me. Additionally, the blind spot monitor now functions as intended. And, after looking at them side by side, the Morimoto looks and feels like it was built better.

Don't. Just replace it with another OEM unit. As far as I know, no one has yet been able to offer anything better for a price that anyone is willing to pay. The vast majority of the aftermarket units last a year or two at best.

Have you priced the OEM piece?

I broke the passenger side and had to buy a used pair. Now I have the driverside sitting in my garage. DM me if you are interested.

Or you could just get a BSD-equipped one. But i'm not quite understanding your point...?
The least expensive one on Ebay right now is $200 and it doe not have the BSM, nor the additional wiring for it. That is why I got the ones I listed above. About $200 foir the set and about 30. minutes to remove, swap the BSM and reinstall.

As long as you are fine with spending $200 every year or two to replace them.

I say that because I already went down this path when I switched to LED on my first JL. I got tired of replacing tail lights so I just bought an OEM set for $200 on FB Marketplace and that was the last time I ever had to replace a taillight. I've tried the aftermarket and i'll be sticking with OEM for my taillights from here on out.

Now on the front end, that's a different story. Oracle's Oculus headlights are fantastic and never faltered over many years of use.

You got a great deal. Still on the factory LED headlights and I added a set of Hella Rallye 4000x driving lights. Really lights up the deer at night.

If you have the OEM LED headlights I wouldn't change a thing. The Oculus are better, but not enough better to justify the spend. I had the Oculus on my last JL but my new one came with the OEM LEDs and I have no desire to upgrade.
