Is it just plug and play or do you need some sort of resistor/ballast setup?

You need either a resistor, or better option is a tazer or JScan. I prefer JScan, you just change the appropriate settings to LED and you are done. For JScan, you need an app and license $20, security bypass cable $30, and a JScan compatible blutooth obd aapter . JScan has a list of compatible ones, or you can DM me and I’ll show you the ones I used, and the settings I changed to make the led tail lights work

Technical question, Scot. Why can headlight halogen bulbs be replaced with LEDs, and not require a Tazer or JScan to change settings, but it’s necessary for tail lights? Is it because the headlight bulbs come with a resistor in the bulb? Thanks.

Correct, most of those bulbs come plug and play with resistors.. some tail lights, like Oracle come with resistors, but they get hot, so i opted to use the computer, and ditch the resistors

Thank you, sir! That’s a mod I want to eventually do, including the front DRLs and turn signals. I do have a Tazer. Does the Tazer lower the volts/amps delivered to the bulbs?

I’m not an expert o the tazer, but my understanding is that it does more than JScan, so yes you should have no problems.

Scot, did you do a fender chop? If so, great job!
Thanks! Yes, did the bushwhacker fenders, with AAL liners. The side light is xkglow, it was a fun project. I ditched the plastic clips and used the AAL nutsert package to attach the fenders

I recently swapped the halogens tails for the factory led tails on my 24 Willy’s and even though I purchased the required JScan items thinking it would be needed to reprogram the vehicle. To my surprise It works perfectly without doing anything. not really sure you need to do anything other than just plug them in. Maybe try it before investing in any programmers first.
