NavyVet you are going to love the stick shift it's like taking a hot knife through butter
I compared the JK and the JL stick shifts and although I didn't mind the JK's, I will admit that the JL's is noticeably smoother. I'm not expecting it to be high end sports car smooth and would have been perfectly happy with '64 VW Bug smooth. Hell, *anything* is better than having to deal with an automatic!

The only thing I have to get used to is first gear. I find I can only go up to 3K RPM before going into 2nd

I'm going to try to break this engine in "right" for a change and keep it below 2500 RPMs for the first couple of hundred miles and take local streets instead of highways so that the RPMs vary more. Not that I've ever had an engine that needed overhauling before I moved on to another vehicle, but it's quite possible that this will be my last vehicle ever considering my age, how long I keep vehicles, and how many miles I normally put on one in a year. Well, assuming that there is not some major flaw in the design that affects reliability.

I was browsing through forums; saw 2018 orders ended July 19. Some orders may still trickle, but LEDs and steel bumpers are on restriction. So...the saga continues... I’m so glad I got everything I wanted! I did ask today at the dealer about ordering a premium soft top. They said it’s not available for purchase yet. Did anyone hear different? How are the quadratec soft tops?
I'm in the same situation. I took my hardtop off the day after I picked it up, and put on a bikini shade. Been dodging showers on the weekend hoping a soft top will be available soon. Today I'm taking it to the dealer to address the "it's a jeep thing" steering issues...so I put the hardtop back on last night as they'll likely have it parked outside some of the time. I'll ask the dealer to see if they can get an estimate of when we can order a premium soft top. I've asked before but no one seems to know. I've never seen a company so in the dark about so much. lol

I like how it is taller than the factory one I saw.
I actually ordered the factory one before I saw JCR's. I cancelled it, because JCR's is more of a mid height bull bar and it is way taller than mopars wench gaurd.

A round garbage can lid makes a good spray shield for the wheel when using spray tire shine.

I thought I'd want the taller bar, but this one has grown on me. I think it looks good.

I will eventually get a functional bar that is welded to the bumper and will help keep me from pitching forward, but for now this will do.

Your definitely going to want to get a stinger if your worried about pitching forward.

Wasn't able to get to the beach this morning (bummer) so I thought I'd have a little fun with the video I took of me-n-Stormie getting stuck (and then getting un-stuck!) by adding a little dramatic music and the actual sound effects of driving by my GoPro.
