392 Snorkel… does it exist?

Jeep engineerings designed the hood to be a true cold air intake as well as having the ability devert 15 gals/min. of water. This hood/intake is an impressive piece of engineering.

In Jeeps own words, eliminating the need for a snorkel. Hope this helps.

It was really poor judgement on my part. This was at the end of an all day wheelin trip and we were heading back to the trail head parking lot at AOAA.

The resolution is low in the vid but you'll notice a tree in the middle of that "pool of water".

The tree had a sign that said go right as left was sinkhole and ofcourse I missed it and went left lol.

Immediate aftermath, you can see the mud hit the intake scoop but the actual filter was bone dry with no mud due to the design. I'm still removing mud 6 months later

Not terrified but thinking "well crap this sux" as soon as the front end dropped to the headlights and I started loosing forward mom23rdentum, so I opened up the hemi and powered out.

I was wheeling with another 392 who was ready with a winch and I had bunch of recovery gear to hopefully make a successful extraction.

But it did suck that the Jeep was 4 months old at the time with 2800 on the clock.

It did clean up nicely though after a ton of elbow grease and bribing my 2 daughters to help lol
