I bought a set of these from discount tire a couple days ago and just realized they’re load rating F :/ How screwed am I? I have not noticed a difference in ride quality or stiffness from my KO2s. Looks like they’re just a few pounds heavier as well. I honestly didn’t even think to look or ask. I mean load rating F???

There's your answer. Go forth and enjoy your tires; life is complex enough without looking for problems. By the time of your next set, the C and D load rated ones will be out, and you can get those next time.

I almost bought the same tires but switched them for C load rated KO2s and a little refund.

They actually installed the first set and I didn't realize till I got home and had them put the C's on the next day. I agree with @azwjowner, enjoy your tires. I enjoyed mine for the 14 hours they were installed on my Jeep.

It’s wild that the first 315s in the KO3 series are F rated. Just wanted to make sure I’m not sacrificing anything else beyond ride quality. Like I said, I’m not noticing anything crazy but maybe my pain threshold is high haha

This— most HD PU’s are 18’s up, yet the first 17 is F rated, Huh ?

That what I was told and saw on BFGs page, no other ratings in the this size.

I'll add that F rated in a 315 tire is the same as E rated in narrower tires (e.g. 285/70/17). So that helps you too. A big part of the carrying capacity is just because the tire is so wide.

Interesting, I’m learning a lot about tires… unfortunately in the wrong order

Just find a tire pressure, around 30PSI that you like (comfort/handling balance) and send it. The higher max load carrying only applies at the super high 80PSI pressures. Since you don't have anywhere near that tire's max load you can run lower pressures and gain back most of the lost comfort.

Yes, the tire is heavier, and that has an impact on acceleration, braking, fuel economy, etc, but it is not that massive of a difference. On the other hand, you have a stronger tire, with stronger sidewalls when you go off-road, etc.

If it drives fine for you, don't stress over it.

Appreciate the advice! I’ll make sure to beat them against some rocks

Got the same tires last month. Have put about 4k miles on them and they feel and handle great! I was concerned about the Load Range F as well, but super happy with them. Had the stock 285 KO2’s before for comparison. Enjoy.

From what I understand (limited, of course, because, you know, F tires?) the sidewalls won't squish very well when you air down. Go ahead and try it to see for yourself.

If you're not happy then have Discount Tire swap them out. Not sure how long you have for that.

Not true. My 2500 truck has 17” wheels OEM and load range F is appropriate for that truck.
