I’m finally ready to pull the trigger and get my first Jeep. I’m dying to have a new Rubicon, and the only thing stopping me is being so close to the 2019 models. Is it worth waiting? I’m hoping for a gobi/tanish color in 2019 and if I knew that wasn’t going to be a possibility I don’t think I could wait any longer. Any idea as to when we can expect to know next years colors and revisions to the JL? Waiting a few more months feels like an eternity. Advice?

Well, you cannot order a 2018 JL now so you would be limited to what is on the dealer lots. If that doesn't slow you down, just go get one. 2019 is just around the corner, but nobody really knows anything about colors just yet.

I had read that ordering was closed, but until I started to read this forum buying off the lot and trying to find something somewhat close to my specs was all that had occurred to me. Right now I’m leaning towards waiting just a bit longer to see if any more info comes out about the 2019s. I guess if ordering one is the route I go that will be my only choice! So many people have told me that the second model year of a redesign usually brings some needed changes. I guess I’ll see if I can resist a couple more months! Never been more obsessed with something in my life and I don’t even have one yet haha

I’m with ya. It’s truly painful. I planned on ordering 2 months ago but dragged my feet. Non I’m chewing my fingernails waiting for the 2019 banks to open.

FWIW. You can still order a 2018 but a lot of the options and models are on delay status. I was told wait times are 12-16 weeks.

There may be some needed changes made, however, there are also (rumored) major changes too. BSG and ACC, which may present their own bugs to work out, and there is all but certain to be another price increase. Just know there are risks no matter if you buy now or wait until 2019. I decided to go ahead an take the plunge because I could personally care less about ACC and not sure how well BSG will work in a jeep. AND...I'm just ready to enjoy my Wrangler. :like:

Painful is an understatement. I’ve found a 2018 that’s near perfect minus the steel bumpers. I’m just afraid I’ll be mad at myself in a few months if I buy now.

Just my 2 cents, I would not buy something off the dealer's lot unless it had everything I wanted and the color of my choice. So far only a few have shown up with the options I want, but not in the color choice. I'm most likely to wait until MY2019 unless something shows up with every option and the color I want. :)

OMG...just get it already!

If the dealer has close to what you want, you might get a good deal on a year end sale. .Just get it already! :)

Just go get one. BSG, ACC...pfft. I got mine in March and have been enjoying it every day since. Wait until 2019 and you’ll be paying more plus added options may have more issues. As for pricing there will be an increase...my build is now about $1250 more info I were to order it today. I expect it will be up to $2000 more to build what I have in a 2019 year model.

After you place a 2019 order, it will be jsut a hop skip and a jump to wait for 2020 Jeep!

I found there are dealers that have tons of JLs, find one drive there and pick a winner.

There will always be a next year model with a couple things hat are nice to have.

This ^^^.

The ONLY advantage to a '19 is if they happen to offer a color you like better. Otherwise, the '18 is less expensive and arguably just as reliable due to the fact that it's still got the good version of the Pentastar engine and not the sure to be problematic 2.0L engine or the BSG-saddled 3.6L.

I was obsessed for YEARS. Finally just decided how many more changes can they make before I decide this is the one I want? If you keep waiting for something better, you'll never have what you want. I just bought a silver one off the lot and couldn't be happier. Ultimately it's your decision but I say just go for it!

I'll be waiting to order a 2019 Sport Unlimited with minimal options. Just hope some more colors are offered. Loved the purple on the JK.

Word. I wanted a stock Rubicon in punkin' metallic with a manual tranny but did not want to wait several weeks or even months for an order or wait for the 2019....so I bought a black one that sat on a dealer lot for three weeks because nobody wanted to buy one with a manual transmission. Got a great payment and while I may have settled with the color I'm really loving it and have no regrets.
